But seriously. Please, please, please someone either get the old site back or find a better one than this mess.
Its been on the cards for a while Somb. The trial Beta version has been accessible for a few months now. I'm probably one of the few, but I like it.
Harsh. The old software had serious security flaws, the CMS section was broke by a hacker and vBulletin were next to useless in support for security, they stopped supporting vBulletin 4 about 6 months back and vBulletin 5 is unusable - so I had to to move quickly to new software and it took me over a month to get this ready. I don't care what anyone says, it is much better software than vBulletin and the only argument is over how the design is laid out. Here's a good article on why vBulletin is dead and why we needed to move https://www.avforums.com/threads/vb...net-brands-have-killed-off-vbulletin.1855705/ (but it was only the security flaws that forced my hand to move as quickly).
having digested the facts there seemed little choice Mick, nothing worse than a unreliable tool to work with, having a stable platform is a must for what you do .
I am going to work on the layout a bit over the next few weeks (on some monitors the grey/black text contrast is terrible). But I'm pretty sure people will appreciate the new functionality pretty soon (if not the layout), as I've been playing about over the last month I've got to really like it.
I need to rebuild the search index (and a few other caches, like users saying 'New Member'), it's very server intensive so I was going to do it over night - things like the Youtube videos will be fixed in the next day or so too.
