I think any of us know the Championship, so that's just about everyone on here, will know that big, burly strikers can often make a big difference. Heskey is a big strong lad, but he's not without skill either. Yes, he may be 36, but his quality and physical presence will still affect plenty of tight Championship matches. An astute signing, I think.
Yes, I always liked the comment on the USA "Big Soccer" Boards when they were singing the praises of a young Jozy Altidore and someone said "He could be the next Black Heskey" - obviously had never seen Emile in action.
A twitter twit has sent Mike White(RH) a tweet about Arsenal bidding £20m for Robertson. Lmao. Not a chance.
I would like to see us try and loan either Defoe or Keane but the chances are they could both end up at QPR. Hopefully they don't because I would assume they are almost guaranteed safety with them two.
I would definitely sell Robertson for £20million plus but I can't see that happening or that kind of money being offered. I can't imagine anyone will come in for him at such a high price without him having a full season in the premier league under his belt. If he did go then that is enough money for 2-5 players and enough money to find another up and coming talent such as Sam Byram, Forster Caskey, Mesca, Will Packwood, Ben Gibson, Callum Wilson, Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie. I am sure Dundee have a nice % sell on fee clause.
The only problem with the list of players there is that only two of them are ready for the Pl, in my opinion. Once we are established, then we can think about buying hot prospects.
Unless we had someone lined up that we really needed the money for or arsenal had someone that they were going to sell us or loan us there is no way I would let him leave for any price right now. The last thing we need to be doing is offloading players who feature a lot for us when we are in a relegation fight. We can always sell him after the season is over if the price is right.
If we were offered £20m then I am sure we would sell. Townsend who was loaned to Dundee United as part of the Robertson deal is getting excellent reviews, he maybe good enough to take his place.

If I had to pick one type of player which I think we need it would be someone similar to Andy Carroll, we have Robertson and Elmo that can put a lot of crosses in, we just need a big bruiser that can head in the box.
A player we could do with at the moment (although not liked by many) is somebody like Charlie Adam. Likes a battle, gets stuck in, can pass, run at players and isn't afraid to have a crack at goal - something the rest of our midfield seems scared of trying.
Jelavic puts himself about and can win headers off most centre halves. We don't need another player like that. What we need is a goalkeeper. I would say a creative/shooting midfielder but we have Ramirez who is a proper number 10 type just starting to grow into the team, Diame (may not be overly creative but definitely likes a goal) returning soon and Snodgrass at some point in the next few months. Not to mention Ben Arfa back into the fold if the Allams actually do a single thing right. Anymore and I think we'd be overloaded and back to pissing about with silly formations just to fit certain players in. Other than a new goalkeeper, who would be easier to find in the summer, I don't think the squad needs strengthening at all, it's big, has plenty of players in all positions and they can all offer something a bit different. We have a good squad, it just lacks good guidance.
