I am trying to recall a (IMO) luckier 3 points than we won today.

Anybody?

 

Yep. The lucky 3 points Spurs won at The Liberty a fortnight ago.

 

we have had a number of lucky wins over the years but i would not count this as a lucky win i would call it a hard fought win that we should have scored more...

 

This , I'm more disappointed that we didn't test Guzman enough , in those conditions today the few chance we had on goal were either high or weak efforts.I don't think we were lucky .Fab showed his class with an excellent reaction save and another one shortly after but prior to that was he that busy ?.We gifted Villa chances on occasion with lack of concentration or poor passing something which has been evident for most of this season but we kept both Agbonlahor & Benteke reasonably quiet and increasingly frustrated especially with a dive in the box which went unpunished and with another 3 points gained although not happy with the performance happy with the result.

 

We deserve the 'rub of the green' now and again - especially given the bad luck we have suffered in previous matches; Spurs as PGF says, and Southampton to name two - but agree with Dai, hard fought and thought Fabianski was superb - 'that' save being the icing on the cake.

I dont think it was remotely lucky. It is about digging in and defending well when you are not at your best and that is what we done. Another great clean sheet and a well won 3 points.

 

I think we got lucky with the penalty decision this time, which was a huge relief as we have been punished by some of the most awful decisions I can remember this season.

I don't think we got lucky regarding the result though, we scored, they didn't. If you don't take your chances you only have yourselves to blame, it's not down to the other team getting lucky.

Spurs didn't get lucky against us - we squandered a plethora of chances to win that game. Spurs did better with their opportunities than us. Luck has nothing to do with it.

 

The weather spoilt the game quite a bit for both sides but we deserved the win all the same..

 

In the first half I thought the officials favoured villa in quite a few decisions but then it balance quite well and certainly in our favour in the second half , on another day we could have conceded two penalties so the Gods were kind
