Brilliant to see 40,000 Sunderland fans turn up today. Even more brilliant to see 20,000 of them **** off before the third goal. Life's a bitch eh Disco?
Pay on the day away cash turnstiles, that doesn't happen very often, especially for 4 hour round trip. shame your fans couldn't be bothered to come a support a good win. Seems you'd all decided to leave the seats empty before a ball was kicked.
Some must like it. Last season saw the highest total attendance for the top flight for over 60 years.
No I had no transport. But you can bet your arse my seat wasn't empty because I made sure. Nice try though lads. 44,817 the attendance, couple of thousand short of your last home attendance x2 I do believe. You shouldn't knock other teams followings when yours is a bit of running joke between clubs with proper fans.
Getting into a pissing contest with Sunland fans about support...kinell lads pick on Wigan or Burnley or summat
Cant remember a game in the Prem where we had more fans in the Stadium at the final whistle than the home fans. They're a fantastic set of fans tho, those Mackems!!!
Good win today fella. You're a man of class. Unlike some of your counterparts. Pick up some rare points and they try to attack everything about their opponents. Pathetic.
It doesn't help that over the Christmas period we've had 3 home games in 11 days. Take in the big price increase on home matches, Xmas, our performances of late and the general ****eness towards fans from the club. That's maybe why our away attendance against Sunderland wasn't as good as it might have been.
They give you almost half a million pounds more per match, about £10 million over a season. Plus all the walk up expenditure and advertising money. Whilst it doesn't guarantee points, it does mean you have more money to spend on players.
It'll keep them up for another season and give them money to build with. Today they suffered an hangover from beating Newcastle United, but they are difficult to score against and like after Southampton will dust themselves down and move on.
