He did. And he had that crucial block near the goal line that stopped a certain goal. One day Mathieu.
With only a 2 day break... do we start with Walcott (Welbeck to the bench) & Pod (replacement for the mentalist!)
Next game is likely to feature Monreal at LB & Chambers at CB. Likely Bellerin at RB. Coquelin, Pod, Ox, Campbell will likely start as well. Then filled in with other players. Don't think Theo will play the whole game.
Tempting. I'd keep the back 4 the same except putting Kos for Nacho is the former is ready and maybe shift Nacho to LB. Hell even Belerin might play. Midfield can also be left unchanged except if Ramsey is ready (though I'd just leave him on the bench). Maybe Coq could start. With Giroud out we could go up top with a 3 of Sanchez, Pod, Welbz, Campbell, Theo, Oxo (if fit). Makes for a decent conundrum
A few if's and but's depending on injuries/fitness.. but the way you guys put it, doesnt make the depth look too bad.. just need to get a consistent starting 11 happening.
Yeah players are coming back from injuries which helps a lot. Still I'm expecting at the bare minimum a CB in the Transfer Window. If we get lucky Wenger could get a DM on loan or sign a top one as well.
Welbeck was taken off (far too late) so I'd expect him to play on 28th. Sanchez shouldn't have started today and should in no way play more than 30mins in the next game. Cazorla should also have been rested today and likewise shouldn't play much. If a player didn't make the bench today I can't see that he'll be fit enough to start in 2 days time.
Yeah difficult situation - id inagine rosicky will start, wenger seems to see the cbs needing little rest so id imahine merts and monreal will start, just a question of if kos comes in with nacho at lb. Maybe welbez upfront, oxo on wing, sanchez has to start. As does flamini. Chambers for debuchy tho
Ches, Bellerin, Mert, Chambers, Monreal, Flam, Coq, Ramsey, Pod, Welbeck, Ox is the most changed team that could, and maybe should, start.
Didn't see the game today as I was eating Bubble and squeak at the mother in law's and playing cheesy board games with my sister in law and her mate. Great to get the 3 points though even though it sounded like the nerves were jangling towards the end
We were the far better team and until we went down to ten men QPR looked clueless, harry was having a meltdown on the touch line which added another level of amusement. Even after the red we scored our second and only conceded due to a spurious penalty. I felt we looked dangerous throughout despite having to sit on the edge of my seat pulling my hair for the last couple of moments, hoping Arsenal didn't do the impossible and mess it up!
We should have had another pen in my opinion - we played really well before the sending off and it was only QPR throwing bodies around manically (sometimes illegally) that stopped us creating more clear chances in the 1st half. Though we were grinding them down, and even the sending off didn't break our stride. Sanchez was a beast. Just a shame that once we shut up shop we look so nervous and vulnerable!
It was one of those days, we dominated and then got caught with our pants down. But even then QPR couldn't capitalise on us giving it to them on a plate. What does that make QPR?
the points are more important for Arsenal right now so three points was very good yesterday. With all the injured players coming back if Arsenal can beat West ham and Southampton then they might just be in for a ver good season.
