.......should they automatically get picked and Brucie tell Quinniesta et al. thanks for putting in a shift that left Sunderland midfield incognito, but back to the bench now like good lads.

No, but I expect we'll get "squad rotation" with us having 4 games in 10 days starting with today.

Interesting one. Their absence wasn't down to SB's decision. Would he have picked the team he did if they had been available? So does he now stick with a winning formation which came about because of circumstances?
I would stick with today's team for a variety of reasons. But I am not the one paid to get these things right.

Livermore is back next game, whereas Tom still has two more to sit out.

Chester is missing for Leicester so at least one change will need to be made. I think we've made too many changes too often this season and this win could be a chance to build some continuity, but at the same time, that XI doesn't have enough up front to be on the front foot in a completely different game against Leicester. But who can you drop? It'd have been better if one of the attackers had got a ban instead of Chester.

I think we need to learn from WBA at home where we played a team lacking creativity on the strength of a good result at Everton, and it clearly wasn't strong enough in attack to break them down. Leicester will be a similar game if we play the same attacking players as today.

Think it will come down to injuries and who has/hasnt recovered in time. Massive effort physically and psychologically today.

Jake came out top of most running in the premier league and 5th most tackles made, so he will be ideal to bring back in if one of the midfield are knacked.

What's that in the entire league? Last season I'm guessing. Never heard that before.

Just 46 hours between matches - bringing back our fittest player is a no-brainer.

It's a good job certain Arsenal players aren't whiny fannies like some of you lot, (and McShane) else they might not have won this evening.

Bruce will, and always has, put out the best team available to him based on what he does, and you don't, know about each and every one.

What an odd post that is, coming as it does from the board's second whiniest fanny, on a thread with very little whining.

I think we will revert to 4-3-3 (4-2-3-1 if under cosh)

    Mcgregor
    Elmo, davis, bruce, rosie
Meyler (dm), livermore (am), quinn (dm)
    Rameriez, aluko, brady

Obviously dependant on recovery from todays game

I agree that Meyler and Quinn deserve to keep their places.

Jelavic needs to be up front.

They've let us down most of the year but Bruce rarely dares drops such players.

yes let's play players on form and not on sentiment.
Jake and Thud could do with a rest, at least to show them that they aren't infallible.

After the team he selected today I think it's a flight of fancy to try and second guess him. It's even more confusing now as he is in a period were squad rotation is essential, whereas previously it was mainly confusing; all we need to do is follow his game-plan and all will be revealed. <whistle>

As is mentioned, a team that's succesful in one game won't neccesarily work in the next. These are two very different games and we need to get out there and dominate the game tomorrow (isn't it?) rather than keep tight and grab something/anything on the break.

    McG
    Elmo Maguire Davies Brady
    Meyler Livermore
    Aluko Quinn Ramirez
    Jelavic

i kinda called SB's reasonings on yesterdays match thread , i cant say i was enthused by it , but it worked .
Sunderland looked lethargic and that was mostly my point , pack the pitch with players prepared to run and run in a hope Sunderland are still pulling crackers .
Not sure same could work with the Hudd/Livermore pairing plus i dont imagine Leicester will be anything as sluggish as Sunderland was .

Its gonna be harsh to drop anyone from Boxing day , Chesters banned so easiest thing is to go 442 and bring back Livermore.

They should be picked when it becomes relevant by squad rotation in relation to the amount of games played over a short period of time.

I fully expect a different Huddlestone when he is eligible again. I think it will have given him time to recover, see things in context, realise his place isn't guaranteed, knock the chip off his shoulder and give him a kick up the arse.
