great 3 points and another tough fought win but we need to take that step up now and hold the ball better in these types of games - we managed the 2nd half very poorly and were lucky to get the 3 points in the end. very happy with our xmas period so far but i hope Monks looking at improving our possession game. MOM for me was Ki again though Taylor deserves a mention. anyone else think that Bony just didnt look interested? - thought that was one of his worst games for us. upwards and onwards to Anfield!
I don't know so much, QPR are looking good for the money, a real Derby type game, and Green has already saved a penalty on 8 minutes, so you never know.........
Thought that Fernandez was outstanding today - looked what he is, a top international defender. Fabianski is an upgrade from Vorm - no doubt about that. Ki continued his good form, Gylfi battled really well and Taylor is getting back to his old self. Taking Shelvey off was a wise move, given his first half yellow card. Montero going off early was a big loss to us - he had the beating of their full back. All in all, 28 points on Boxing Day is a great return for us - 13 points away from the drop zone.
Hmm...that was a tough watch in the second half but we clung on and ground it out. The first half conditions were some of the worst I've witnessed at the Liberty which made good football very difficult. Lots of mistakes from both teams. Villa actually played quite well second half and pushed us back for large parts of the time. Not a classic, but 3 points is 3 points and we're hanging on to the coat-tails of Arsenal and Tottenham
this is like watching the Chelsea v West Ham match, too many heart attacks in the last 10 in the Swans match
Poor second half performance but the first half wasn't much better. Lucky to get the three points but you can't play well every game. Villa looked a decent team. Agbonlahor impressed me. The way he plays behind the striker is the way I've hoped Gylfi could.
