My brother assembled a homemade hamper of ales and continental beers for me. How nice. In it is -

    Massive bottle of Hoegaarden
Krombacher Weiss (wheat, rather than pilsner)
    Bitburger
    Timmy Taylors Landlord
    Old Miserable Git
    Boon Doggle
    Pilsner Urquell (Czech beer)
Blitzen (Ruby Xmas ale, Black Sheep)
    Greene King IPA
    Mythos
Munchner Hell Paulaner (Pilsner from Munich)
    Old Speckled Hen
    Black Sheep
    Saltaire Pride
    Trooper
    Yorkshire Blonde

    How good is that??

I toasted the bird with a half bottle of white at 8 this morning, half for it half for me.

That argy Malbec at dinner time, recommended on here, very nice.

Couple of bottles of Stella and some more whit with my Xmas dinner. Had a good kip after that. Now my mates coming round....

Going to start with a bottle of that staropramen and see where the night takes us.

    Enjoy it everyone

Agree with every one about the quality(?) of Budweiser. The Budvar ( originally Budweiser) brewed in Europe is totally different and a good drink. By the way the catchphrase of Budvar is "Beer of Kings". Guess what the USA drink is. Give in? It is "King of Beers". I drink a good Yuengling Lager on tap when over here, and have a few bottles in. It is a very good substitute for UK beer being the oldest brewery in the USA. Black Sheep on tap now when in the UK.

Staropramen on a roasting hot day served ice cold is sublime.

    My favourite lager by far.

On a rather fruity Spanish red now.

I started late but I think I've paced myself well.

One of the biggest disappointments of this year was going in Polar Bear after the Palace game and finding out that they had stopped serving Bitburger.

Mythos doesn't taste the same here as on draught on a Greek Island. Still OK but not as good.

Some good drinks in that list.

Just having a few bottles of Staropramen myself. Alternated with a fairly decent Polish beer and some
    Tanqueray gin.

    Good call.

    I'm assuming no ice?

Please let it be no ice.

You're not a man until you've taken on and completed the Three Bottles of Baileys challenge. Thats about 6000 calories from memory. Takes some doing but the sense of achievement makes it worthwhile.

    3 bottles in one session?

I agree that would take some doing, but I can't imagine that you'd be left with any other feeling than shame.

And maybe a bit of nausea.

Course I mean in one session, it would hardly be a challenge if it was spaced out over 3 weeks. It's not the booze that does you, it's the cream.

    Tough times.

I'm going to express my gut feeling, and say that it isn't even possible.

    Surely it isn't.

Tell me you've done it, Bummers.

I've done it several times, God's honest truth. At least 5 separate occasions. I'm talking litres here btw, not the poncey 700ml variety.

I just checked and it's actually about 9000 calories....

There's no subtle way of putting this, but - are you morbidly obese?

Honestly, how did you feel afterwards? Physically and emotionally.

    I'm not angry.

    Just disappointed.

    And a little sad.

I hope every one is enjoying a quiet and peaceful Christmas with their loved ones.

Deep in the bosom of their families.

Safe and warm within the cosy blanket of seasonal fuzzy good feelings.

    Ice in Baileys.

    ****ing ice in Baileys.

    I ****ing despair.

    I really do.

Physically you're fooked for half a week. Seriously. Just massively drained and you can hardly muster the energy to leave your seat. Emotionally it's life affirming and a sense of enormous achievement. Mind over matter, mind over matter....

I'm 6ft and weigh just over 12 stone.
