Atleast he took the opportunity, not like a young Robert Snodgrass who turned it down so he could play in the Scottish Second Division. <doh>!

How much pressure is that on a 7 year old kid to have his family move to Spain to basically start a professional career?! Maybe that's more normal in football than I realise though...

    <laugh>!

Lucky bastard. Might be brought up to play a little differently than most English kids if this works out for him.

His dad says they would move tomorrow if they could so he's lucky to have a very supporting family who obviously have decent money of their own.

If only I had the chance to play outside the Nou Camp aged 7 how different things might have been...

I'm not talking about the money of the move really (after all, I think most of us would happily move and live in Barca?), but it just seems to be a lot of pressure on a lil' kid playing sports at that age. Though like I said, maybe I'm ignorant to how youth football is in Europe, though hockey isn't even like that in Canada, nor basketball in the US

I agree with what you're saying but put yourself in the dads position if this opportunity came around for your son 9/10 times you would do everything to move to Catalan and give your son the best chance he has to make it work in Spain.
You cant fully calculate how good a lad of7 will turn out to be due to a number of factors.
However, Barca are just too good to turn down!

what? Why are they implying he's football mad because he shares a name with Rooney's son that that's the reason he's football mad despite being 6 years his senior? so for the first 6 years of his life he didnt care about football, then Rooneys son was given the same name as him, and he was suddenly interested?
