I too felt that Xmas Day was too special...that's when you usually call those very close to you. Messaging her before Xmas would be better.
Just finished my annual supermarket worship...was busy even at 7-15. Not too traumatic as most of us were sauntering and being polite, though you always get a few idiots who rush round using trollies as battering rams as they mysteriously think they are saving time.

Although I have on Christmas day... and by that I just mean my main group of friends. Thank goodness I have a day to decide.
Messaging before Xmas suggests that you have remembered her, but you also have a life and will be too busy on Xmas Day. You don't want to conjure up a picture of a loner sitting in a bedsit desperate for human contact. Errr...you're not, are you?

Tbf, it's more than feasible that someone would have a spare 5 minutes on Christmas day to pick up their phone and send a quick message via Facebook, even if they do have plans for Christmas day. However, I think I might text her on Christmas Eve evening, around 9:30ish, as then it's close enough to Christmas to not be too strange, but I guess I can still portray myself as super busy on Christmas Day. And like you said, it would suggest that I remembered her in advance and not been like 'oh ****, it's Christmas day and I forgot about ******'). Plus, it might be more romantic to message her the evening before. I dunno.
