The last three Vikings losses have been by 2 points, 3 points and 2 points. Two of them have been against Super Bowl contenders. Just cut out the silly mistakes and we'd have a good chance to make the play-offs. Shame we're not in NFC South, with our record we'd still be in contention!
Think the biggest mistake was to put that much faith in Cassel and Cordarrelle at the start of the season. But with the Lions and Packers in your division, couldn't see it happening anyways this year. Did three teams from the same division get into the playoffs all together? Can someone look that up?
Looking at the NFL website and those teams in wildcard positions and 'in the mix', it seems that it's not possible for 3 teams from the same division to qualify for the play-offs, otherwise the Vikings would have been classed as 'in the mix' with their reasonable record, at least they would have been before Sunday (haven't checked since). Whatever happened to Patterson? I haven't heard his name mentioned in weeks.
He was benched a couple of weeks ago, he was really really bad. They've played him a couple of times in recent weeks but not much has come from him the entire season. The Vikings offense betted heavily on him at the start of the season, which is when they lost most of their games, after they mixed it up a bit things got better for the Vikings.
What about AFC North? Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are already through and the Ravens are still in the mix...
