Leroy came from FC Twente I think so hardly a household name and Wolfswinkel was a gamble but if he stays at St Ettienne we will not lose much on him. Comparing our signings to those of Ipswich from ages ago before Sky digital is hard because the money gained from promotion is astranomical now . If you don't go up now being in 2nd and 7 points ahead it will be viewed as a massive failure where as our rookey manager may manage to beat the odds and gain promotion but he is not expected to, Mick Mccarthy has to get you up now or you'll never go up. You have a bigger ground more history a vastly experienced manager and better players money doesn't come into it..
Rare praise & compliments indeed SN! Festive spirit! One correction, we are not 7pts ahead of 3rd, NCFC yes, but that's a given! It has been and will be a very tight run-in til the last week, unless 2-3 teams manage to put distance between them and the also-rans. Unlikely, and IMO any one of about 13 teams could easily make the top 6 come end season! As one who was born in Norwich - Yes! - I still believe you will be up there abouts over 2nd half......all to play for, and you have many talented players and rang uncomfortable rings around us at PR! Cue - right old return thumping at City!
