http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...sle-fighting-life-hospital-hit-lorry-A64.html Former Premier League footballer Clarke Carlisle is fighting for his life after being hit by a lorry. Carlisle, the former Leeds, Burnley and QPR defender who went on to be chairman of the PFA and also achieved acclaim for his appearance on TVâs Countdown, was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with life threatening injuries. The incident took place near Bishopthorpe in North Yorkshire at 7.30am on Monday, with the road closed to allow the air ambulance to arrive at the scene. The reason for the accident remains unclear, however a police spokeswoman said they were âpursuing all avenuesâ.
I don't like the man, but hoping for a speedy recovery. The past week news wise has been bloody horrendous. Last Monday the Sydney Siege was going on, the following couple of days were all about the Pakistan school shootings, then on Friday all those kids were killed in Australia, and then today we had that crash in Glasgow as well as this.
Wishing him a speedy recovery Agreed, been an awful week, though made slightly better by this headline: Ukip candidate: 'Gay donkey tried to rape my horse'
Towards the end of our last promotion season I spent twenty minutes nattering with him on York railway station, he seemed a genuinely nice guy and was happy to pass the time of the day. He was certainly well clued up re. City and expected us to get the last few points that we needed for promotion. Fingers crossed for him.
A bloke from my village got cleared off his pushbike on Wednesday and instantly killed by a van driver. People drop like flies this time of year.
And the fact you've decided to criticise me rather than show respect shows us all what a prick you are. If it makes you feel better, I can easily change it to say "I don't like the man, so I hope he dies". Would that make it better?
****ing hell, that's rough; knocked off his bike, then killed by a van driver. Talk about knocking a man while he's down...
I'd imagine he got knocked whilst he was still in midair, but I don't know the gory details so you could be right.
His injuries are being reported as non life threatening. Odd incident given it was on the A64 near York and he was hit by a truck.
