Hulls loss is Scarborough and Bridlingtons gain

Both places close to Filey so I will go to both .

That's why the flat stages are good for the sprinters. It's not all about the climbers.

I can see that if the Council coughs up the money, it brings in tourism and people spending money...but hold on it's not the council getting the money back is it?, it's businesses - which is good for them and their employees, but it doesn't help a budget strapped Council. I'm sure some old dear will be happy to forego Social Services support just so some people can watch a bunch of cyclists ride past for a couple of minutes.

Didn't In read somewhere that the only actual spend on the Invincible idea was around £50k and the rest was only proposed costs if we got it? £50k was probably just the staffing and publicity costs for a year so not that unreasonable.

As for the port, I assume that this would come out of the capital (infrastructure) account which I understand is completely separate from the revenue account which pays for staff and services. Both the port and even possibly Invincible could be viewed as assets (as was the KC) were a cycle race couldn't.

which is why we are held back as a backwards city.. going into hull is like stepping back 20 years compared to the other big cities
