    Didnt know that.

I still think that it probably means he isnt injured like people think and that it probably means he will start. Unless Davies is fit to play. I cant see Bruce picking Maguire over Alex Bruce.

For me after the time aluko spent on the pitch I would bring him in just behind hernandez and jelavic ,
    Mcgregor
    Elmo Davies. Chester. Brady.

    Meyler. Quinn. Ramirez
    Aluko
    Hernandez. Jelavic.

We've scored TWO goals in the last 9 ****ing games we really do need to stop pissing about and get as many goal threats on the pitch as possible. Brady, Jelly & Hernandez should be the first names on the team sheet.

People still knocking Bruce jr for no real reason, our problem is the midfield area, if Ramirez plays again v Sunderland I might transfer to the poodles and Bruce out brigade, he's costing us points being in the team

    McGregor

    Rosenior Chester Davies Robertson

    Elmohamady Quinn Meylor Ince/Brady

    Hernandez Jelavic

    Brady/Ince
    Maguire
    Jakupovic
    Sagbo
    Aluko
Fig . . oh no. (Bruce if fit)
    Ramirez

For me this is the team and shape against Sunderland. If Davies has a niggle then Maguire. Sunderland will look to wear us down (we have to guard against the early ball-breaker), but we should counter-attack with pace from the off and disrupt their flow. We have to release Brady and Elmo quickly, our forwards need to be switched on and ready. It's going to be a bloody hard game of football, Sunderland have a lot of face to regain, but we can do it, even with a hugely depleted squad which we have to take on the chin and grow some desire. a goal each half for us and a consolation goal for them in the last ten minutes, just to make us a tad nervous! Easy game this, <cheers>

One thing else about Ramirez, he reminds me of Stan Ternents 'marquee' signing Gwyn Thomas, older fans might remember that

2 goals in 9 games is absurd, especially as we scored twice in each of the previous eight in all competitions. Bruce seems to be football's answer to bipolar disorder. Compare the attacking style he employed for the first two months of this season to, say, the Cup semi-final (when he started with one up-front against a ****e third-tier team, before doing a complete 180° and going all-out attack) or his tactics/formations/team selections since October. It ****ing baffles me how a professional manager can change his mind so radically between games, or even within one 90-minute match.

I'd go the other way and say he doesn't change his mind at all during matches much apart from the Ben Arfa moment but then again I actually go to the games unlike some

Many folk are boycotting games until the owner goes, as they have principles. Unlike some.

But yes, as I said in an earlier post, Bruce often treats matches as if they're being played on a FIFA videogame. He doesn't make changes until the match is two-thirds gone.

If we lose against Sunderland it becomes very hard to see us staying up. It isnt impossible but there are really only enough games left between us and teams in the bottom of the PL to stay up if we never lose and win most of them. There is no reason to hold anything back. I would put your 3 on the pitch and the first player in the midfield or top that slows down or doesnt look a threat I would pull of the pitch even if it was in the first 10 min of the game.

Skinny, youthful, fairish lightweight fairy, and dark, ageing, stout, immobile tackler? Really?

No it doesn't. There's been several press conferences where the player hasn't come off the bench. Most notably Brady and Dawson when he was injured.

I can confirm that I will not be doing the press conference. Make of that what you will.

Aside from one good tackle on Saturday, he was bloody awful. He played a back pass that nearly let in Gomis in the first half and he just doesn't look good enough. Maguire, when he came on, was much better, I can't believe it's taken him this long to get into the first team again.

Ramirez wasn't terrible, but he wasn't anything spectacular, I can see why Southampton were so willing to let him go. He isn't costing us points at all, not being creative enough is costing us points.

I'm also increasingly baffled by Bruce's tactics and team selection. Players who contribute absolutely nothing like the lightweight and ineffective Ramirez are given full 90 minutes and others like Macca who has shown over the past six years what a whole-hearted competitor he is and is always dangerous on set pieces are banished to oblivion because apparently he spoke his mind. Rosenior, a very capable and undeniable team player, doesn't get a look in. The talented Ben Arfa was played out of position and never was able to show what he could contribute. Brady sits out while Sagbo gets subbed in. Ince gets sent out on loan. Bruce seems to have lost the plot.

We seem incapable of creative attacking play. CMF passes the ball backwards and sidewards from the kick off. Never a run forward like other Prem teams other than Jake and Meylers occasional forays. Its so predictable...and boring. We are odds on for relegation unless there is a massive shake up. The team spirit that characterized last season seems to have evaporated.

We have two wingers who are attacking threats but are asked to play a more defensive role. Let them attack...put some pressure on the opposition. I'd like to see us use more pace and aggression with Robertson and Elmo rampaging forward...lets shake up the line up on Saturday.

    McGregor

    Rosenior Chester Davies Brady

    Elmo Meyler Quinn Robertson

    Ince Jelavic

Jakupovic Bruce Maguire Macca Aluko Hernandez Sagbo
