Aye, but that reputation is made to be broken. Liverpool had the reputation of always getting into the CL no matter what until 2010, so did Utd until last year. I said a couple of months back that one of either City, Utd and Arsenal would drop off into a fight for fourth whilst the other two pulled away and possibly looked to challenge for the title. Looks like that is happening now, and Arsenal are going to be struggling to hold onto fourth spot right till the end of the season. Two goals in 18 games says he's already well on the way

It's a poor league outside the TOP2, that's for sure. Chelsea and Cty are nailed on for top4 as shown by the odds. I think Utd will get top4 because they have quality and composure in front of goal and will score goals. Add in a keeper in great form and it's enough. I wouldn't be going anywhere near that 1/7 though. that's a shocking price. As for the rest, none of them are convincing and all have major defects (except West Ham TBF, but their small squad and lack of top4 experience will probably undo them) but i'd rather have a punt on Pool at 9/1 than sweat my money on Arsenal at 2/5. No value whatsoever in Arsenal at that price!
i agree in principal with what you are saying, but if he ever goes off form, they are crap at the back, so will let in goals, he is the reason why they don't at the moment, but things can change quickly, not the defence keeping the goals out, a world class keeper is. do they have enough the other end to outscore opo like we did? i say yes, but still think if teams attack them they will get rewarded.
We have played better, all be it ugly better, in recent weeks. If it was not for poor finishing we would have drawn with United and beaten Arsenal. These games should be winnable. A few players are hitting some form at a very practical time (mainly Markovic).
On paper these should be cast iron guaranteed 9 points for us. But we've been saying that since the start of the season when we looked at the fixtures and each time we've been disappointed. Our attack has been toothless with 2 goals from more than 60 (!) shots. This is really shocking when we've had other teams scoring 4 from 5 shots. We should win these easily if we played a striker and one with his shooting boots on.
That's a bit off an exaggeration TBH. It's 40 not 60. with 19 on target. Also the shots against was 15 not 5. The other teams are fishing better abd having Jones in goal doesn't help at all!! Carra called it right on MNF. Box to Box, Pool are playing better recently but they have problems in both Boxes.

I have been thinking the same. I said 10 points frpm 5 games would be acceptable, we got the 1 point I expected in two, now lets see if we can get 3 wins on the trott. It is still a big ask based on our form but these last two games we have played ok and probably could feel a little hard done by for only getting one point tbh. We finish off that run with a game against Wimbledon, so really we are now looking for 4 wins on the trott..... when was the last time that happened?
Yep - we're missing good chances but at least we're creating chances now. Thanks to having someone more mobile and dynamic up front. I really wouldn't say we've been all that great in the middle either - Lucas has provided more balance but with Gerrard in the middle, we're still getting cut open far too easily.
