No thanks to Torres. Kono is out of contract in the summer and should be cheap. Shaqiri on loan would be nice as well, so these two can provide speed and skill. The only striekr we should be in for is Lacazette and he won't come in Jan IMO. Therefore, we should persist with Sterling/Balotelli and Sturridge. Most importantly, we need a keeper. I heard that Migs won't be playing for Liverpool again which would be harsh. Perrin (from Italy) is the number 1 target.
They'll all cost more than Torres but then, I'd rather us pay for quality than accept Torres too. I'm not convinced on The Plank (Konoplyanka)) either
Nope, he's still there http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...aal-Victor-Valdes-Manchester-United-Liverpool
I'm considering the 'sell Lucas, Skrtel and Borini, and force Gerrard and Johnson to retire or move for free to help relieve big wages' option.
I really don't understand why Rodgers won't use Manquillo or Moreno as the full backs? This then allows Henderson to move centrally, where he's good and Markovic can move further forward (replace Lallana). We actually have a good team if used correctly. And then we continue to play Lucas and Gerrard for the full 90.
Moreno played on the left in the 343 against Man Utd and basically said "**** defending". Maybe that's why...? Mankiller isn't great going forward so I understand excluding him in this system.
There is no way Markovic is better than Moreno defensively (Markovic has impressed defensively to be fair). And Henderson is absolutely useless going forward - bar his assist yesterday. It's not to say that Marko and Henderson have done poor jobs in those positions - I just feel that we have two players on the bench who can do a similar, if not better job and it then allows Marko and Hendo to play in positions which are better suited to them.
Unnecessary changes that everyone hates, surely go with the same team against Burnley and we should be good enough to win? I know it's simple to say 'Arsenal were ****' but that is also down to how we played, pressed, passed out from the back etc. It worked well.
We were very good. But that's not to say that everyone in our team was very good. Skrtel and Gerrard are useless in any set up and will continue to hinder the team.
Sell: Borini, Lovren, Lucas, Johnson, most of the ****e we've sent out on loan Buy: FW, DM, CB, GK (all of proven quality) - basically the team needs a spine / core, when we play we resemble a new organic form with many limbs that flap around and twist and turn into mysterious shapes, but that has barely any body to support them. If I had a pound for every time I've seen Martin Skrtel writhing around on the floor with a head wound and then a head wrapped in bandages, I'd never need to work again. If I had a pound for every time a bandaged headed Martin Skrtel has pumped a deadly header into the top corner from a corner, one of you would never need to work again.
I never said Marko was better defensively. What I said was Moreno wasn't bothered about defending. There are two ways of looking at this; 1) Marko has the better attitude when it comes to defending; or 2) If we're not going to defend then we may as well pick the better attacker. I'd actually go with Enrique myself. He's decent going forward and won't neglect the defensive duties either. As for Hendo, I agree he shouldn't be the RWB however, that's assuming it is a RWB rather than RM which I think it is. Even if it is RWB, Hendo is probably our best option for that role considering his work ethic, enthusiasm and balanced ability in both defence and attack. The annoying thing is, Glen Johnson on is day is the best option for RWB but his day no longer exists!
