It's worked wonders at West Ham... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ience-claims-West-Ham-boss-Sam-Allardyce.html Get Shearer in a day or two a week. Everyone knows if you stop our wing-backs we have nothing going forward with our midfield devoid of creativity. With so few assistants/support staff, you can see why we're struggling as a team. http://www.hullcitytigers.com/club/whos_who/ I can't understand why some match tickets are priced £50, can you?
Unfortunately my friend, the answer is quite simple. It's because the "powers that be" can. For affordable football, it's probably better if we're back to the Championship. As for an attacking coach, I think it's a great idea, but HAS to be the right person and in my eyes, should be someone who knows the football club. Deano would be the obvious choice, but I'd love Stuart Elliott to teach our strikers a thing or two about bullet headers and wonder strikes!
I just think with Deano or Elliott they have no evidence they are any good at coaching and i doubt the players we have would really work under someone who has achieved very little in the game of football as a player and very little as a coach.
Yes lets not worry about the fact that neither of them have any coaching credentials. Tell you what let's get Gazza in. He's looking for a job and he'll have David Meyler dribbling through the oppositions defence in no time flat.
I didn't mean to say that because they didn't play much in the PL that they wouldn't respect them as clearly some great managers and coaches haven't been great players but neither of the two mentioned have exactly been great coaches or achieved anything as coaches so it would be daft to just bring them in as they have a link to the club. Deano with a pint in his hand on the touchline i am sure he can get his views across.
With the contacts Brucey's got in the game it may be a good idea to get a fresh face in But It isnt just Agnew taking the training every time they have other coaches and guest ones quite regularly.
There's one of Teddy Sheringham Spurs and England's striking partners lives just up the road with all his coaching badges, oh wait a minute......
Yep im with you, Elliott never played at this level and isnt a coach, he could say a prayer for us though
Isn't Sheringham a poker player nowadays? I cannot see someone of such high calibre coming to Hull - nor Shearer. We should be more realistic - the idea in general is quite good though.
The only person who could teach our strikers how to score goals was nailed to a cross 2,000 years ago.
There's a difference between 'service' and having the ball 'laid on' (which is what our current strikers require. They will not get the ball 'laid on' at this level because we are up against the best defenders in the world. Our strikers are not 'cutting the mustard' at this level. We will have to get some new ones in January or it's Championship football next season.
yeah, so let's not even try, eh? what have they achieved? both in the top 20 list of hull city players capable of sticking the ball in the back of the net, that's what. for those not au faix with the game, that is the CHIEF aim. further to that top 20 of city strikers, don't forget chris chilton turned billy whitehurst into a goalscorer. you think stuart elliott would be incapable of passing useful information to people? do send us a postcard from your planet. as for someone who has achieved very little in the game as a player, what did people like arsene wenger achieve as a player? or alf ramsey? or herbert chapman? or any of another million i could name who did sweet fa as a player.
(Sir)Alf Ramsey was a very capable defender for Tottenham Hotspurs. I saw him play at Boothferry Park against us in the FA Cup. We played with 10 men for most of the game (no subs then) and were a goal down with time ticking away when our great 'utility player', Viggo Jensen, pulled a foul just inside the penalty box by none other than Alf Ramsey. Viggo scored from the spot to level the game but we got beat 2-0 at White Hart Lane in the replay. He scored 24 goals in 226 games for Spurs and was capped three times for England.
Thanks for listening Steve. What days will Shearer be working? I know there's no chance of that but we definitely need someone with new ideas. I wonder who the replacement will be? Brucey must have someone lined up.
