There were players much closer to him and all he had to do was shuffle it on, f**ing hollywood ball was stupid, this is what I mean about when we have the balla nd have not got it, sometimes your shape means you cannot afford to lose possession at that moment, that's why you keep it moving with short passes and keep it, that was one of those times, 3 arsenal players loitering and Gerrard delivers the ball right to them and leaves us exposed for what would have been no great gain, he wasted 2 long balls prior to that too.

I'm not disagree with you on either situation, I just think its very harsh to blame Gerrard for that result. Especially when most would have taken a point before kickoff.

Second goal who is more to blame, Skrtel or Sakho?

Skrtel. Was supposed to be marking Giourd, the ball went out wide and Skrtel was pulled out of position to the ball where Toure already was, leaving Giourd to stand still and be able to get the ball back to shoot. Sakho was coming in from the left where he'd been marking Welbeck, anyone see Welbeck do anything today?

Oh f** off with the scapegoat bollocks. If a player is playing below par, ANY player, then they will be criticised and rightly so. It's their job to turn up, give their all and earn their salary. Footballers shouldn't get a free pass. Gerrard was s**t today, gave away so many simple passes, gave away the free kick that led to their first goal. If Lucas did all that he'd be getting criticism too.

I don't give any player a free pass. I've battered and praised nearly every player in our squad at some point. I judge a player on the game they've played, not my opinion of them prior to kickoff

Martin ducking Skrtel is going to be the death of me! Will be covered over with his goal but beaten at the back post after switching off and losing his man and then just defending space for the 2nd.

Gerrard was average as usual, trying to hot too many long balls when what worked was quick short passing into the front players.

Lucas was good in the middle, sloppy a couple of times but broke up play and was a threat forward as well.

Feel sorry for Borini, guy wanted to go out and prove a point but was over committed. If the Lino had done his job right then wouldn't have got first booking but still silly thing to do.

Jones has a goal to shot ratio of about 90% ffs and is just as bad as mig at kicking.

Overall though, was like the Bournemouth and United game. Better going forward with some pace and movement.

2 things, sterling needs to not shoot from outside the box cos the guy is useless. And Rodgers moaning we had 23 shots and it's unbelievable we haven't won... Well but a ****ing forward that will stick some of the chances as well!

Some talking points.

1. That wasn't some plucky comeback. We gifted them two goals (the second was well crafted to be fair). We drew this game against ourselves, Arsenal barely turned up. I honestly felt like we were playing ourselves, none of the focus of the match was on Arsenal.

2. Sterling was anonymous for large parts of the game. Needs to stop making stupid decisions regarding shooting vs. passing as well.

3. Markovic should be starting, had a great game. Stupidly taken off.

4. Skrtel and Kolo should be taken out back and shot out of mercy. Thanks for the goal but your poor marking lead to the first goal and Kolo's hesitance saw him slow down as the ball was passing him by for the second.

5. Sakho was the only decent defender we had.

6. Borini showed more passion in 15 minutes than Johnson has since he arrived 5 years ago. His red was deserved, but it didn't cost us. If we forgave Markovic for the same thing (red due to exuberance) then we should be willing to do the same for him. Shame he'll probably never play for the club again.

7. Lallana is full of neat tricks but 99% of them don't result in anything.

8. Gerrard's passing/shooting ability has dropped off the face of the earth faster than a Malaysian airliner.

9. If Coutinho scores once in a game, he should be banned from shooting for the rest of it. It's not going to happen twice.

10. Brad Jones has conceded 6 goals in his 3 games so far. While a few have been defensive errors, he's not really any better than Mignolet.

11. Lucas was poor today. Too sloppy and slow.

Pretty much this.

I know Lallana will get praise for today but he really didn't contribute in any meaningful way.

Really happy for Markovic - created the most chances and completed the most dribbles today.

We were really good and should have won - but I have no sympathy for Rodgers when he continues to play Srktel, Gerrard and Lucas. Skrtel is a massive liabilty and I'm glad fans are finally starting to see this. Gerrard is just a passenger - offers so little. It must be so frustrating for the team to work so hard to win the ball back only for Gerrard to lose it while attempting some pointless Hollywood ball.

Sakho is clearly the best defender we have, and I hope fans realise now how pointless signing Lovren was when we have potentially one of the best centre backs already at the club. Not doubt that fans will only focus on one messed up header rather than the rest of his performance.

Coutinho should be doing better with his chances but he's still a great little player.

It wasn't a dive if it's free kick which you admit it was Rodgers claimed it wasn't a free kick.

And whilst players like Sterling and Coutinho are missing chances, I still would not be bringing Borini and Lambert back into the team. We're creating chances and looking dangerous. Give me that over zero movement/pace that comes with Lambert.
