Fair point that Igor undoubtedly needs a rest....but that leaves us facing the terrifying prospect of starting with Pigott and Church up front (gulp).

And Tucadean? Hey, we're awash with strikers. Plus the Harriotts could have a go up top.

We can't rest him until we get an adequate striker - harriott was poor today, and after an encouraging start to his new role it's evident it's not working. He can shoot (though he left those boots in London today) he hasn't got the brain to work defenders with his movement. Too many times Vetokele cut a lonely figure.

It will be my last trip to ewood park for a while - we never travel well there (in support or performance).

RD agrees. Gives him the chance to sell Wilson, Cousins, Harriott, and maybe Gomez and Vetokele. He will miss out on Wiggins because of the injury.

I presume you are expecting us to make (nett) signings to improve the team? Are you calling RD and Bob liars? They have both stated on more than one occasion that investment in the team will only be made if we are seriously in the promotion race. By the time New Year comes we will be in the bottom half of the table and sliding.

I think RD may be ready to bail out. He bought the club on the understanding that FFP would apply and give him the chance to compete by running a tight ship. Because of the criminal stupidity of the clubs in relaxing the ceiling to absurd levels he can no longer do that. I do sympathise with him there.

Also, for a supposedly astute businessman, he has shown great talent at reducing or negating the value of our assets. Poyet let go, Morrison let go, Wilson probably let go or sold for peanuts as were Kermorgant, Devite and Hamer. Cousins devalued by being played out of position. Good money spent on the wages of continental dross.

Powell and his staff presumably got, or will get substantial payoffs, to be replaced by a manager who is no better.

powell never got any huge pay-off. he got three months wages as his contract was up end of season. rd knows it was money well spent cos if powelly had stayed we would by now be playing against gills and parkys bradford.

cant see how the bloke has devalued the assets. at this level transfer fees of two hundred thousand here and there for fringe players like morro or dervite or wilson are loose change. its about getting them off the wage bill. bringing on fox, gomez, harriott, cousins and the others has added monetary value and they are all on cheapo wages. may be we should have sold solly to the spammers before he got crocked like we sold jenks to the arse. solly aint worth nothing now that he cannot be risked playing 2 games in a week.

you reckon peeters is no better than powell.well powelly has now taken two teams down to relegation level in two seasons. big bob has us still in top half. the owner and coach never expected promotion this season and we aint going to be relegated so he probably wont spend much money in jan. what he does in the summer is what will be count.

Give it a rest, this negativity is worse than Reams. Of course there is a possibility that we can be Relegated. There is a possibility that I could win the Jackpot on the National Lottery. But I would be very surprised if either thing happened.
The Teams worse than us are the Teams below us with fewer points. If we go below these teams then we will be worse than them.

I know it is hard work supporting Charlton, but I wonder why some people bother.

It's not just about the squads. It's also about what you do with them. Powell achieved 9th place with one of the weakest squads and smallest budgets in the division. It is about momentum. We are losing ours fast while several clubs below us are gaining it. All those rather undeserved points we picked up earlier in the season will probably give us a safety cushion though. Although I wouldn't rule out a complete collapse unless RD signs a couple of decent players (which he has said he won't do), chances are that at least two others among the many teams below us will also have bad runs.

    Early August, I posted this:
(finish) 21st as of now (but 16th if we sign a couple of good strikers).

I see no good reasons to change that by much. I underestimated the ability of Vetokele, Ben Haim and Bikey, so we have picked up more points than I expected, but there are signs these guys are getting tired of carrying passengers.

One win in the last nine League games. If that is not relegation form I do not know what is.

Wigan is another team I agree there squad is probably better than ours, but they are a joke tbh, Brighton, Rotherham, Milwall, Leeds and Reading are all struggling too, Huddersfield will be ok due to their strikers I beleive.
