It was miles onside. Wasn't even close. Pretty poor decision, but I doubt it affected the result. Timing would've made things interesting, though.
Benteke's goal has Villa ahead against Man Utd. It'll be interesting to see if anyone goes in for him in a couple of weeks. The Spam have a narrow lead against Leicester with the resurgent Andy Carroll's goal dividing the sides. Two strikers returning from long injuries with instant impact. The Baggies took a two goal lead at Loftus Road, but QPR have pulled one back. Could be a big second half for Redknapp. Last week's opponents Swansea also lead by a solitary goal. Bruce will be under pressure if Hull don't do something, too.
Charlie Austin hat-trick puts QPR 3-2 up against West Brom, after they were 2-0 down early on. Massive result for Redknapp if they can hold onto that lead.
Man Utd rescue a point against 10 man Villa. Falcao scores their goal. Rather dubious sending off, by the sounds of it. Not like them to get that sort of decision...
Real winning the FIFA World Club Cup 1-0 at half-time, it's been a horrible game so far, lots of fouls and the ref is ****e. San Lorenzo are an incredibly dirty team too.
You'd have thought Utd would have beaten 10 men, right? Anyway perhaps their luck is running out as their performances haven't merited their results.
Jose Mourinho has claimed that retrospective bans for players that dive would be a disaster. Presumably he means a disaster for Chelsea.
It would be a disaster because diving is subjective to a degree and it would be impossible to enforce.
Why would it be any different to a referee deciding it at the time? The main problem that I'd have with it is that officials would start bottling it and anyone who wrongly received a booking would still be incorrectly punished, as you can't appeal yellows.
Terrible game that lacked any quality but certainly entertaining enough. Nothing against Newcastle but I'm always glad when a Pardew team loses. Thought Sunderland had the better chances but the finishing from both sides was woeful. Expecting better from Liverpool-Arsenal next but looking at both sides I think Arsenal should run away with it. Should. I think you'd very quickly see a standard set for what does and doesn't constitute a dive and having it directly addressed and punished would make it far easier to point out where there is inconsistency. My only problem with it is that in all liklihood the line that's drawn would fall well short of where I think it should be.
Toon now only won 1 in last 6 matches in all competitions, losing 4 only 4 scored and 12 conceded....how long til the pardew out chants are back?
Not long, I suspect. The goons obviously fancy their chances with Sanchez, Welbeck, and Giroud all starting.
pretty piss poor match so far but Liverpool controlling the match without creating anything...26 gone and no saves made says it all
