It would appear that a certain Mr Craig Whyte has been leading the Rangers fans up the garden path. http://sport.stv.tv/football/scotti...26-mccoist-unlikely-to-make-marquee-signing/? Warchest? I've seen a bigger chest on a supermodel!
I would think if Sally plays patient he will be able to get Thompson Diouf and Goodewillie at decent prices. Some people say they would blend in well with the current players and most of the 30,000 odd thousand season ticket holders.
To be fair, they'e got a couple more loan deals lined up. They're becoming little more than a dumping ground for young mediocre EPL players not good enough for their own teams.
OK. I'll bite. Whyte has committed to spending £5 million/year for the next 5 years. That would allow just 1 marquee signing/year, or a few journeymen/year. How does McCoist stating that there won't be any marquee signings this summer as he needs to expand the squad contradict this? How is the wool being pulled over our eyes?
That's funny. Didn't he say there would be £10m available in this transfer window and £5m per year consequently?
So, in essence, he's spending less than Murray did last summer but you wanted rid of Murray because he wasn't investing enough in the team. Hmmm.
Yes you are. Murray wanted out. We couldn't spend because the bank wouldn't let us. Meanwhile in Stereoland....... please log in to view this image
Murray wanted out. The fans wanted him out because he wouldn't spend enough money on the first team. Now you have a chairman who is promising £5m for players each summer for five years, which when you include wages, is less than what Murray spent bringing in (one player) Jelavic last year. So far you've been rejected by three or four Bosmans and you're now looking at bringing in more young loan players.
"So far you've been rejected by three or four Bosmans and you're now looking at bringing in more young loan players." We can take rejection, it's part of life. Your mob (fans and club) take it as a personal insult. Novo anyone?
As a Rangers fan, can I just answer this and say - Nonsense. A number of fans wanted him out because of the mess Rangers where in financially, not because he wasn't spending enough money. So Whyte mentioned that £5m will include transfer and wages? Pretty much like the £10m you said he promised. Good god how will we cope. Players reject move to Rangers, they have before and they will again. I guess anyone that gets an offer from Celtic always say Yes.
