ah but the downside is that you now have all this wealth of experience in the Championship, which be of no use next season, should you get promoted - it's been too long a break.

The poor Foxes fans are learning that now, and I must admit I do feel for them a little.

I've always thought that the journey to the promised land is better than your time there.........................and the build up to Christmas is better than the day itself.....................

We managed 3 seasons and looking at Burnley and Leicester that was pretty impressive by us.

Pretty impressive yes - but you along with many clubs ( us included ) overachieved initially, then went for a couple of high profile big names/ big wages then whatever you did have was gone perhaps?

Leroy Fer/ Wolfswinkle et el probably looked liked good signings, but for whatever reason didn't go that way. A bit like Sereni/ George with us.

Hull seem to be going the same way - Ben Arfa has continued his throw career down the toilet skill which he seems A plus with.

Why do we think this is? The big boys come on to small clubs on £40,000/ £50,000 when the majority are on £15,000 - £25,000 and perhaps don't work very hard? I can imagine training going from a very happy environment to a lot of egos, and certain players wondering why the hell they are bothering to be frank.

I applaud Sunderland, who have a 50% relegation clause in every single players contract. Common sense from one club.

It happens because PL clubs are virtually held to ransom. Everyone and his dog in the world knows how much money PL clubs have to spend, so are looking to cash in on it, and do. It's been that way for 20+ years, only now the money is better but the players coming in generally are not.

Managers will not look at the lower leagues anymore (or very rarely), so shop abroad and get stung.

I didn't see RVW or Fer as high-profile or big names tbh. Wolf commands a big fee as he scores goals (sometimes) and that is standard practice. We were mugged by Sporting with him.

I think we have a 50% wage cut for relegation too so applaud away.

If you actually do have a 50% clause for relegation fair play. However, without being rude to you, I don't think you/ us / Burnley and the likes players would join on 3/4 year deals if that was the case!

You didn't see two Dutch internationals as big names!? RVW was a major ( at the time ) coup for you with many other clubs interested.
