Warnock, Cook, Mowatt, Pearce, Byram, Austin - All last seasons players all featuring a lot this season. To be honest apart from Pearce the players we already had are outshining the new players. I could have put Morison and Tonge in as well as they both came on yesterday ahead of EIGHT of the new signings. If the new players are so great why are Morison and Tonge being picked ahead of them?? At the start of the season the shouts were to give them time to gel, the fact is the longer they play together the worse the results and performances are becoming. SOMEONE is getting it wrong, either the players Cellino signed are not up to the task or the coach is picking the wrong players and tactics
Well it's not looking great that's for sure. I don't think having the likes of Peltier, Green, Drury, Pugh, Varney would've had our points haul and league position looking any better, probably a lot worse. We're still useless but there's more youth and more potential to improve than there was last season, that's why it's slightly less depressing. Only slightly mind
I was talking about the players who've left, out of those, only two would get into the current side, Brown and fly tipping child abandoning pikey
Just my opinion but Smith or Poleon ahead of Doukara and Sharp McCormack ahead of Antenucci and Bianchi is no better than Tonge, Green or Brown. Cooper is the only player that improves the team, can't count Adryan as he can't last 60 minutes and on the last couple of showings he offers nothing but promise but how long do we rely on promise and are we going to sign him? The starting 11 yesterday - Silvestri, Cooper, Bianchi, Sharp, Antenucci - They were the only new signings who started the game. Would the result have been different replacing them with Austin/Brown, McCormack, Smith? Okay we would also have to included a keeper and Lees or Wooton, baring in mind we should have lost 3-1 with the two disallowed
Butland is a better keeper than Silvestri, and Paddy Kenny if fit is certainly no worse! Noël Humt/ Doukara apart I arn't seeing a huge out/ in improvement.
I forgot we had Butland, throw him into yesterdays team with the other players mentioned you would have to have said stronger.
So how do you judge improving or better? Do you go by our last match, our last 6, our last month or season in general? I guess the answer is none, you pick out one game where we played well, let's see what happens next time we meet Derby Going by your reasoning I am going to pick out our win against Huddersfield last season and say last seasons squad is better
Morning all. At least we got a point yesterday. So not all bad. One thing that does concern me. Why can't we get corner routines right? How many corners did we have yesterday, N how many times did we fail to either clear the first defender or create an opportunity? Just wondering how many of our newbes will be going back to Italy? Montenegro, Sloth, and Del Fabro can't even get a game when we're not creating that many chances or still leaking goals. January TW is going to be interesting. We might not win the league. We might even struggle to make the top 6. But Mowatt, Cook and Byram will all benefit from this difficult season
Exactly my point one which I made to WJ, training ground stuff, Mowatt was awful at his set pieces yesterday Another question that I too would like to see answered, why loan players with a view to signing them if we are not going to play them and if we are then surely we need to see more of them. We will probably sign the ones who haven't featured and send back Adryan.
Fair point Ristac. Mind you, when a chunk of these loanees were acquired, we had Managers who weren't trusted to buy the right people. At least now we know Redders is more likely to either use the Academy or understand who will deliver more than what we've currently got
You have to look at his entire career, and include his stints as caretaker to get the true reflection Redfearns stasts as manager are Games 78 Wins 18 Draws 16 Defeats 44 Win ratio 24% Points per game 0.89
I wouldn't agree on either smith or poleon. Fulham loaned smith out so career going downhill and Poleon certainly won't make it any further than where he is
Scarborough, Northwich Victoria and York City all thought he wasn't management material so they all sacked him
