There are a lot of crap teams in the Championship, and a few that are a little better. There are no bankers for promotion. No certs for victory on a Saturday. Everyone is beating everyone else. BUT..... We have bitten the bullet. We've brought in 15 players. We're promoting youth. We're building for the future. All positive stuff. All spell out a rocky road ahead. So how do we support our team? We come on here & rip them apart week after week. Well I for one am sick of it. Perhaps one of our resident experts should be our next coach? They seem to think they have all the answers. (note to 'experts' - criticism, justified or otherwise is not 'answers'.)
Watch your game again m8 you were light years more **** than any on today, bankers for league 1 with Blackpool just between Rotherham,Brighton and Wigan for the 3rd place.
Agreed Whitejock we worked hard and were well overdue a break, should have had a pen and point last week this week it evened out.
Three easy and glaringly obvious answers; 1) Stop Mowatt taking set pieces, his corners were the worst I have seen 2) Time to drop Pearce 3) Bianchi offers nothing drop him too Are we going to sign the loan players like Adryan? If so fine, if not time to drop him too.
How does pointing out obvious truths on here (and they are obvious) not support the team? It's not like anyone from LUFC reads it. I don't claim to be anything more than an observer, therefore I have questions, and people at the club get paid to answer them. Not with statements but with results. Pleased you see these 15 as the answer, but feck knows what question you were asking? When they start PROVING me wrong I will be happy to say so. Until then Redfearn remains out of his depth, Adryan is a show pony. Doukara is a donkey, Bianchi a liability, Beradi an idiot, Bellusci a red card waiting to happen. The others apart from Ant not worth wasting time talking about. How much do you think cook and Mowatt are going to be sold for?
The 15 aren't the complete answer as of yet, but they have the potential to be. Put it this way, out of last season's squad, out of the players who left only two would get into this season's starting eleven, Michael Brown and child abandoning fly tipping pikey
If the serie B merchants are any better than the dross we had last year why is our points per game ratio worse this year so far than it was across last season? On occasion we might be prettier, but results don't bear out you assertion that this yeas players are better unless the coach is miles worse of course. This is possible!
Because we gave everyone else a six game head start by having that completely out of his depth Hockaday as coach
How many points have we got in the last 13 games? see the problem yet? If 12 points from 39 is what progress, good players and improvement looks like can you tell me what failure would look like. If one of you stat men could show me who has gathered less points over that period I would be grateful. I am guessing Millwall and Blackpool?
I don't include Milanic's stats either. I just go by how many points we've got in the games we've played with Redfearn in charge, and I'm pretty sure it would be enough for a mid table finish if averaged out over the course of the season.
So you moved the goal posts. Ok so will I. What is his points/game ratio since getting the job permanently? I haven't checked but would suggest its relegation form based on 53-55 points being the safety line. Ok done it now 8 points from 24. Do you want to move the goalposts again, cos at that rate of accrual we are going down. Perhaps you should wait till we get a win and have a sample pool of just that game. The facts are not going to justify the faith being shown and football is a results business.
**** knows mate, can't be arsed to look up stats, but I'd like his caretaker stint to be taken into account.
Done the stats above. the benefit of his caretaker period are already included in the actual points total we have, following your logic it would Seem he is failing more over time since taking over someone else's team, results are getting worse. Perhaps we should sack him and make him caretaker again just to satisfy your logic.
Ok just looked it up, 18 points from 12 games under Redfearn, which would equate to 69 points over a 46 game season.
So that indicates that he is on a severe downward slope and if it carries on declining at that rate we can expect to finish on 44 points in May.if he maintains his whole season average we get 51 points. On what basis do you want to believe he is going to rediscover the magic of his caretaker period? The players are now working the Redfearn way.
Today's league table includes them! We can only count them once. What makes you think he is gong to rediscover the winning formula, other coaches will have worked his team out, and the players would have tried extra hard in the initial period of his stints. We are past that now, so convince me he is the man.
Obviously 8 from 8 is relegation form, 18 from 12 is near play off form. Neither is a big enough sample. Maybe we should look at the stats for the second half of last season and see where that would have left us over a whole season. As a rough guess I'd say it would have been a lot less than a point a game
Today's league table also includes the massive points haul of Hockaday and Milianic, nothing to do with Redfearn
Agreed. But they also include the awful starts made by the the likes of Blackpool, Birmingham, fulham etc. their starts were worse than ours and since Redfearn took over full time we are nearer the drop zone in terms of position and points than we were. In short others are getting better quicker than we are, and that's if I accepted that we are getting better. At the present rate of improvement we are going down.
