Well I went today and after 45 minutes of pretty poor football and yet another pathetic referee I started to regret it at half time. How Angella can get sent off for falling onto the ball I'm not sure. However an immense performance from the 10 men in the second half changed all that. Paredes had a great half believe it or not, Cathcart was our best defender and everyone else suddenly played like we know they can but they don't always achieve. Finally our away support is now better than most we see at the Vic!
I do think that our away support did us proud today. There have been comments from the team about how in that second half the noise really gave them a lift. A friend who was subjected to listening to the Reading commentators says that there were times when they could only just be heard above the noise. Will our four sided ground see a lift in atmosphere?
Shocking second yellow for Angella, one of the worst decision's ever. By any referee (yes, even for us). Knob. That is all.
Sorry, not all. We Hornets were magnificent. Not quite Anfield "EJTMA" (you had to be there) but magnificent all the same.
There's something in this. Witness the Huddersfield game when they really responded to the crowd. Note to ALL Watfords fans: make some noise at the Vic.
Great result yesterday, ground out a hard fought game. But Reading really did not look dangerous in front of goal. I did not see the sending off as I was on my way to the bar, but I feared we would lose a player after 2 very light yellow cards - ref could have easily booked 2or3 Reading players for the same but did not. As has been said above, great support from the travelling fans.
It wasn't even handball, never mind intentional... And just watch the reaction of the Reading player - cheating git.
Utter disgrace. Was the ref making up for prior leniency? Could someone who saw first yellow enlighten please? Whatever the case, that ref is a total disgrace.
He was tripped as well. Possibly accidental, but he was tripped. Which is why he fell. It was a foul, not a yellow, the other way.
