Merson was watching for Soccer Saturday. I got in from the match as he was reviewing it. He said we were better team first half and shouldn't have been behind but the goal was unlucky from our point of view. He said second half was more even but equally disappointing from both teams playing sloppily giving the ball away.
Wow .. lucky to get all 3 points with that starting line up. Good luck , not that I think youll need in the long run ..not a hope in hell your going down imo .. cheers
Hard game to watch today, I thought both teams were flakey, but Swansea missed a number of extremely good chances to really **** us. I just want to see some fight, that's all - and I personally didn't see enough of it today. There was, however, almost a fight in the North Stand near me, which diverted everyone's attention for a short while, and everyone was grateful. No punches thrown in the end, so we had to keep watching the ball going out of play. Again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.
Twas passionless dirge. I was in E5 and there was absolutely no atmosphere (didn't even get a north stand east stand chant going). Even the north stand gave up early in the second half. The game was dire and was seriously lacking in desire. I had 10 seats on either side of me before we got into injury time (can't really blame anyone for leaving that early). If Uruguayans are the answer then I don't know what the question is (although I find it harsh picking anyone out after that performance. Was pretty awful across the board. I couldn't help but laugh when we almost walked the ball into our own goal. I don't know how to fix it but then that's not my job.
Doubt that will be first on MOTD! Had the shot you had that hit the crossbar gone in it might have brightened the game up a bit. But on balance of chances and near misses I think we just deserved the win. Good luck for the season - there are a few teams I'd relegate before Hull TBH. One thing I noticed was how quiet the crowd was ... understandable maybe but last season when Palace were rock bottom a reasonable sized group didn't shut up thought the game. I'm sur eit lifted them. Just a thought.
I was appaled by Meyler and Ramirez performances today in particular, what has happened to Curtis Davies too? I'm not jumping on any sack the manager campaign but Bruce needs to find some answers as today was unacceptable, and very ****ing cold too boot
The match was **** today, I'm sure we're all agreed. I'd hoped it would be the worst thing I'd watch today, and that things would be on the up, but my girlfriend as just made me watch Keith Lemon The Film. Escapes me how the game was booed today...
I thought Ramirez was shyte too, I missed Bruce's post match interview coz I was on the phone but apparently he was very impressed with his performance. Was told he said something like "he was one of the few bright lights of the afternoon".
It's a positive to take that there are worse things to watch than that shyte we were served up earlier.
I thought first half he played quite well as he was quite high up the pitch he was linking the play quite well and seemed to have some freedom however in the second half he seemed far to deep and far to preoccupied with tracking back and doing the defensive side of his job rather than trying to hurt Swansea further up the pitch. His corners where poor though, but all of our corner takers are.
Ramirez had an OK first half, at least he was trying to put some forward passes into the box. Robertson and Elmo for me were they best 2 on the pitch for us. However for them I was really impressed with Ki Sung-yueng the Korean lad, controlled the mid field.
