Well, think about it, Young or Jones will probably be trying to get heavily involved with Utd to feel part of the team. Therefore, they've probably gone to try and contribute tactically or talking about how Utd should change and it's probably caused Rio to make that comment. At first, I thought Darren Pratley, but then I thought that would be weird.
Bit unprofessional from rio IMO. Tell the player face to face and leave it at that, don't broadcast you're annoyance at a new player to the thousands of fans that want the team to gel and get on. Will be tough on whichever new player it is. Just arrived, full of hope, and one of the clubs talisman players doesn't like you! Good first day for them :/
Seems harsh to me too. Seems like one of those things where even though all we know is that its a new player. The person Rio was talking about will know and probably feel really **** about it. Not the welcome he should be giving.

Oh, I see. Dzeko came out with something similar in what was clearly a carefully prepared statement by City's hierarchy. Why they still feel the need to indulge in this nonsense is beyond me. The players aren't from Manchester, nor are the owners or the manager so it's a tad illogical. I imagine that Clichy will have mentioned the "exciting project" at some stage too.
I thought that was quite funny actually, Dzeko in particular. I can imagine the City press official going "Right Edin, if you want the fans to love you all you have to say is that there are more City fans in Manchester. As long as you say that, it won't matter if you are a useless flop who scores two goals in 15 games, our "fans" will love you anyway. In fact, we'll even mention you in the blaggers guide we will put up on our website to welcome all our new glory hunting fans."
