Suso and Flanagan are also out Balotelli is suspended. Arsenal: Oxlade-Chamberlain is a doubt with a groin strain and will be checked on on Saturday. Monreal and Walcott are possibly back but on the doubtful list Arsenal have a midfield crisis as Ramsey, Wilshere and Arteta are all out. Francis Coquelin has been recalled from loan at Charlton due to injuries in midfield. Rosicky, Koscielny and Ozil are also all out. 3. Predicted Teams: No teams predicted yet so Iâve stolen the not 606 arsenal team list Szcesney Debouchy Mertesacker Chambers Gibbs Flamini Ox Carzorla Walcott Welbeck Girdoud There are many many possibilities that Rodgers could go for in this game: Jones Manquillo Skertl Toure Moreno Lucas Gerrard Henderson Coutinho lallana Sterling Enrique, shako, markovic could all start however⦠allen too! You canât predict it.
I'm feeling confident. I got the bornmuff result right (1-3) and am going to go with 3-2 to us for this one. Can't see us not conceding, but I think Sterling is starting to hit some real form. Can also see Gerrard scoring. #mysticmeg
who knows... they are very light in midfield numbers so sharpening our studs would be wise i feel. oliver aint for sending lads off he's managed one in 12 games so far so don't be expecting any pen shouts to be given or big decisions out of this clown. I'd be amazed however if we can dominate the possession stats even with that.
BTW Press conferences are today. Arsenal up around now and rodgers will have his david brent moment's wonderful... technican... etc at lunch time.
So far from arsenal: Theo Walcott has made just two appearances for Arsenal this season following his recovery from a long-term knee injury. The 25-year-old forward returned to training on Thursday after a groin problem suffered while on international duty with England last month. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain limped out of the closing stages of Arsenal's 4-1 Premier League win over Newcastle last weekend with a groin problem which the club hope will prove to be minor. Wenger praises Henry Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to striker Thierry Henry, who retired earlier this week "He's had a massive career and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for what he's done for the club," said Wenger. "He was a combination of physical talent and intelligence. He was one of the greatest players I've ever seen." Walcott to be assessed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Nacho Monreal will all be assessed on Saturday ahead of Sunday's Premier League game against Liverpool. But Laurent Koscielny is out.
according to bbc website On Twitter: Jones stays in goal for Liverpool. Rodgers: "No change in goalkeeper." That press conference lasted 4 minutes 50 secs. and that have the genius robbie savage rating lfc buys... lets see what is said on lfc website on conference
you have to wonder about a 5min presser... did nobody else have questions cos if it was short and sweet thats one thing but i am guessing if there was a bit of an issue bbc salford would have it front page in big bold charaters.
Keeping Jones in goal is ridiculous. Not sure what Rodgers is thinking. He's had his fun, now put Migs back in.
He's not doing it to 'have his fun', he's doing it to take Migs out the lime light for a bit, much like Man City did with Hart last season (he was out the team for about a month). Yes, there will be a big song and dance when Migs returns to the first team but in the mean time he can get his head and game sorted out. All the risk lands on that first game back though, play well and the decision is justified, play poorly and he'll get destroyed.
Update on lovern in lfc website Dejan Lovren's fitness will be assessed ahead of Liverpool's meeting with Arsenal on Sunday after he suffered a groin injury during the Reds' midweek Capital One Cup victory. The centre-back was substituted at half-time in the quarter-final tie against Bournemouth on Wednesday evening, which Brendan Rodgers' side won 3-1 at the Goldsands Stadium. With the Gunners next up in the Barclays Premier League in two days' time, the manager provided the latest on the Croatian's condition at his pre-match press conference. "We're just waiting to hear on that - hopefully he'll be fine," Rodgers responded when asked by reporters gathered at Melwood. "We'll assess that before the weekend."
Rodgers has to get his team selection right here. Lucas, Toure, Markovic and Lallana must start. Lovren must not start. I feel Gerrard maybe should sit this one out to. Coutinho started mid week so wont in this one. The main question is - Sterling or a proper striker up top? Jones Manquillo Toure Sakho Enrique Lucas Can Lallana Henderson Markovic Sterling or Jones Manquillo Toure Sakho Enrique Lucas Can Lallana Sterling Markovic Lambert I expect Jones Toure Skrtel Sakho Henderson Lucas Gerrard Moreno Lallana Sterling Markovic
My concern here is that we'll get what ever keeper is available and will not actually improve in that position. The only keepers we've been linked with who are better than Mignolet are Cech and Casillas, but I'm concerned that our recruitment policy, which is very flawed when it comes to signings keepers, will stop any potential moves for those 2.
