    Good Morning Everyone,

Redders is excited about finally getting his man!

Steve Thompson has officially joined as Redfearn's assistant.

First on the agenda is to try to repair the harmony in the dressing room. The gaffer has admitted that (more than) a few noses have been put out of joint in recent weeks from players that have been overlooked.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "The lads to be fair to them have been fantastic to me, because there's been some noses pushed out, as regards players not being picked and left out the squad and they've been great in training.

"They've done it right every day, but it's difficult. That sort of a scenario is easier to manage when there's two of you, so it's important."

Redders would not delve into who had been 'put out' by recent omissions, and it wouldn't really be fair to speculate as to who.

Surely with only two wins in 10, wholesale changes need to take place in the team?

The best eleven individual players don't necessarily make the best starting XI. We have proved that...

We need a balanced team, with some width

Am I asking for too much?

Salerno has told the Italian media that Leonardo Pavoletti joining the club is now up the player.

The Sassuolo forward has in the past few weeks been linked with a move to Leeds and the club also tried to sign him in the summer transfer window but a deal couldn’t be made.

“With the president and with the Sassuolo we have a good relationship, we could close without any problems. It depends on the guy, because we do not understand what he wants to do.

Good call mate regarding the best 11 players, because you can just see Sharp, Montenegro, Sloth and around 5 others who would be peed off. I'm glad his mate has joined him as it will ease the pressure on Redders, b ut he needs to sort it out now because we need to go on a long run. I hate to think what will happen if we have our usual post Xmas form, because this year we get relegated. We normally go into the slump from the top 6 not 19th!!!!! Being a nice guy wont save his job because he will be sacked by the end of January if we are near relegation

    Morning Doc,

I wonder how much time Cellino will give Redfearn if things don't improve?

Morning all all. Personally I think most our players are of a similar calibre and no amount of jiggery pokery is going to transform them. Best we can hope for is another scrambled 25 points or so in second half of season and see where we are. i didnt think much of Thompsons statement telling the players they have a huge incentive given the potential fortunes to be made in the pl. I doubt if we have many pl standard player at the club anyway. Hopefully Thompson will take some of the pressure off Redders. At least Redders cant get sacked for three months after Cellino steps down

    Morning all <ok>

I'm not really surprised that some players are getting annoyed. We've played much the same 11 (or maybe 13-14) for a while now and the results don't merit these people getting "guaranteed" starting places.

That either suggests unwillingness in the coach to adapt, or that the people being kept out of the team aren't performing in training. I have to admit it seems too many people to simply not be performing. We seem to be stuck with the diamond formation through a fear that we don't actually have a central midfield pairing that is up to the task if we play with wingers. That's the only reason I can think we haven't gone with Montenegro and at least tried some wide play.

We've got some decent midfielders in Cook, Mowatt, and Adryan is showing some flair now his fitness seems to be improving, but they are all fantastic at going forwards and being creative, but a bit lightweight for defensive duties. I'd have said Bianchi fills that role at the minute, but I know a lot of people are quickly going off him. It's difficult to see what he adds because it's not a glamorous role, and I guess we won't really know until we see a team without him. Austin was always the classic choice for that "breaking up the play" position in the last seasons, but his distribution is poor and he gets found out.

In short, not only do we need wingers (winger, if Montenegro is the business?), we need some midfield steel to allow them to shine.

Good Morning to Matt for taking the time to bring us an excellent topics to discuss each day
from a sunny Cote De Bardsey
Well lets hope Thompson brings us luck starting at Notts I remeber going there and seeing us beat Man U in a semi final replay and also beating them 6-1 Notts F that is
Much talk is going on about loaning Keith Andrews and as you know I really liked this fellow but can he step up to the plate Lampard is doing so why not What he would bring to the table would be authority a good comunicator and someone who would out bully the bullies Im sure Bolton would pay most of his wages so its a win win situation as you know I dont like getting older players but he could well be the answer to our midfield problems no doubt we will have Chippy and other detractors pooh poohng it

Morning Eire, current crop are not making it work. Something needs to change.

One thing I noticed last Saturday, whenever we got in a good position there were always twice as many Fulham players defending then Leeds players attacking

    Morning Durham,

Totally agree. and at their age Cook and Mowatt should not be playing every game. They need to be kept hungry, and desperate to get on the pitch. I'd play them two on, one off on average. Sloth needs a decent change, so does Montenegro, and Tonge needs some game time too.

I'm not a fan of Sharp. We don't need a poacher, we need someone to be able to hold the ball up to get people forward.

Good Morning young Michael, blue skies in Southampton too.

I'm not a huge fan of Andrews, though we do need a decent, and I mean decent defensive midfielder who can marshall the defence and probably take the Captains armband in the long term.

Surely we should be able to pick up someone coming through the ranks, or rotting in the reserves from the likes of Citeh, Arsenal or Chelski

Isn't that always the case with any team? Unless it's a counter attack with the defence caught upfield, there will always be more defenders than attackers.

Hate to say it but we're missing Michael Brown, that's how soft our midfield has become.

Until we get some steel in midfield along with some width, my ideal front 2 would be Mirco with Adryan in the hole. This would see Adryan on the score sheet doing a Beardsley with knock downs and flicks from Mirco, and Mirco himself getting bags of space as defenders are pulled all over by Adyan. Guaranteed to score every game and allow a Sloth or Montenegro to fill the holes in the middle

Essex, they always had a man on the line, and we were (on average) outnumbered 6 to 2

Evening all, not really noticed much of Forest this season but I'm kinda worried about tomorrow. We were piss poor against Fulham. I know what you mean, Matt, about the amounts they had defending when we went forward. We need to change something and hopefully a new view from the new assistant might shake things up. Looks like you were also right about bloody Austin being on his way.

Hoya Pawnee. Enjoyed last weeks meet up, shame about the game. Agree on assistant manager but he's not there long enough to make any difference. Going forward, we've no imagination. It's all too predictable

Evening Parnee.......can't remember **** all regarding the Fulham game...............I thought Forest started the season well but they are inconsistent, can we beat them, hope so, but a draw is the best I think we'll get...don't know if I mentioned it before(apologies if I'm repeating myself) but it was great meeting up with you and your mate...<ok>
