I'd happily support Hamilton if he went to Ferrari, I don't buy into any of the UK media hype about the alleged rivalry with Flonso and Lewis, it was Flonso who was first into the Mclaren garage to congratulate Lewis when he won the title, not the action of somebody who hated his guts.

If this comment is too controversial (and likely to provoke the wrong response) please can someone delete it...

Is Hamilton tainted goods in F1? Unarguably he's a talented driver, but why would other teams want to take him on? He has, on multiple occasions, made provocative comments to the press which taint the image of his team, has been petulant and creates discord in his team (or at least gives a media image of it), especially when paired with a driver of similar ability. So why, for the tiny bit of on track performance, would Red Bull or Ferrari risk taking him on? Vettel and Alonso both lead their teams well, and have that (I hate the term) "X Factor" which allows them to pull something special out of the bag when needed, why would the teams in question need, or even want Hamilton, and risk the potential off-track fireball that could result?

Of the other drivers on the grid, both Sauber drivers have shown promise, Timo Glock is pushing that Virgin to the limits of what it is capable of, as is Kovalainen at Team Lotus. Rosberg is another option too, so why Hamilton? Why is he so special that Ferrari and Red Bull would be attracted to him?

I'm sorry if this point has been made before (I've not been online too much recently), and I'm only looking for reasonable responses, so what makes Hamilton attractive to the top teams, when arguably other drivers are just as talented, would make better "no 2's", or are more media friendly?

I don't think it's a controversial point you make, but I do think Hamilton would bring massive commercial benefits to any team he was at regardless of what his driving abilities might be. His driving style is unlike anybody in F1 apart from maybe Kobayashi, and this is what neutrals want to see.

Well Dietrich Mateschitz has always said he is not in F1 for the money so I doubt Hamilton's commercial benefits would be an interest to Red Bull and Ferrari have Alonso who brings the millions from Santander, so again are unlikely to be interested.

I have said it a few times I just really do not see either Red Bull or Ferrari being interested in hiring Hamilton.

Personally, I believe that leaving Mclaren will make Lewis a better driver, more rounded perhaps. He's clearly not 100% there at the moment and all he know's is Mclaren, since he was 12 (correct me if wrong). So experiencing a new team, a new setup and the other side of the coin may actually prove beneficial.

My respect for Alonso is huge, in terms of ability at least and I think that Lewis would be the better driver for being with him at Ferrari as opposed to joining Vettel and RBR.

Put Mansell mk2 in a HRT, then we'll see how good he is.

I think he'd drive the arse off it and put it in the points in the wet, or crash, that's the problem with him, needs to grow up a bit. would be a great battle though, him v seb.

Hamilton needs to ditch scherzineggar (whatever her name is(i'll call her the terminator from now on)),fuller etc. and go back to his dad. That's when he was at his best, and when he could actually be arsed to race, rather than spend a weekend whining. Or he should get Button to teach him to multitask, whine about the car whilst driving well, which seems to be buttons trademark.

I think there's some truth in this. I doubt it'll happen though. Unfortunately one of the greatest talents we'll ever know is in danger of being swept along with too many who want a piece of the action. Without his father, he doesn't really know which way to turn. I actually feel a bit sorry for him.

I agree with all of that - whatever split him and his dad up must have been pretty serious and if it's affected him so deeply then his decision has to be respected. It's just a pity that blood-sucking Simon Cowell-wanabee has got his bitch-claws into Hamilton and sad if it's through connections with Scherzinger because I think she's been largely positive for Hamilton in the past.

it Was probably something to do with the celebrity lifestyle he so obviously wants to lead that caused the friction between him and his dad. How many talented sportsman never get the chance because they find what the thing between their legs are for. Now he has a sleazy money grubber as a manager who has no real interst in getting LH to the top podium, in fact probably no real interest in LH except for the £'s.

I personally can't see how The Terminator has been good for him. In my opinion she's just trying to get some new fans, because most F1 fans i know don't listen to modern pop music.

If I could be bothered getting into a discussion about Nicole Scherzinger I'd ask you to point out when, during a race weekend, she has appeared as anything other than his girlfriend in the garage, but I can't so I won't.
