When I started at Cardiff University in 1968, female teachers in Wales had to resign if they got married. What a waste of an education. The thinking was that teaching was a vocation and marrying showed that you weren't taking it seriously. Unbelievable.
Got tickets to see AC/DC at Wembley today. They're rumoured to be one of the headliners at Glastonbury too so I could end up seeing them on on consecutive weekends. On the talk of music. I see Americain cinema outlets are now not going to show the film The Interview after the threats from the North Korean hackers. Hollywood seems to be ****ting itself and has also stopped another NK film . So basically a hacker/ terrorist group can now threaten any film they dislike and it will not be shown. Sony have now cancelled The Interview.
I don't like the idea of censorship of art...though not sure this counts as art. They seem to be running scared, but I can understand it when you consider that massacre that happened in a cinema. Perhaps making a film about assassinating the President of another country is not the best idea....especially when that man is a complete nutjob. Mind you....great publicity.
They have stopped another movie now about NK that didn't take the piss. It is basically just waving a flag to any one who wants to try it.
