I hope the police get very tough when the inevitable riots happen in Belfast during the 12th marches. Every year there is rioting and if the police were tougher perhaps there wouldn't be.

Hopefully they beat the **** out of the belligerent, bigoted and triumphalist loyalists and orangemen this time.

Orangemen allowed to march on Nationalist rd, residents object - beat the **** out of the residents
Orangemen refused permission to march on nationalist rd, orange order objects - beat the **** out of the residents

My fear is that when the Fleadh comes to Derry in 2013 the Loyalists will cause trouble at it. I hate this piece of **** country and can't wait to get the hell out of it.

    (1) The Guardian, along with the Independant, is one of the last bastions of fair reporting. Nothing can ever be free from bias but at least they try unlike Murdoch's and his evil personified News Corp.

    (2) How dare they be angry that they are getting screwed over as the baby boomers (who through their large voting base control the political scene) have mortgaged the younger generation's futures for their own comfy standards of living and retirement nest eggs through an artificially created unsustainable housing boom. Massive debt, no prospects of home ownership, no job security. If it gets any worse there could be a revolution and despite having avoided many of the huge problems facing the new wave of graduates etc. i for one will join them.

Most of the unionist sommunity will eagerly embrace it I think. However it is the small uneducated minority that despise anything Irish I worry about, and the knackers of course. Gypsy bastards, why dont they just leave the Fleadhs alone and stop causing rows and robberies

    1. Yes, the Independent. Whose star journalist recently shocked his legions of admirers by admitting that the people he interviewed didn't actually tell him the stuff he said they did.

    2. I have no problem with them kicking off and rioting. Good luck to them. You want to cause **** though, you better be up for it. Don't try maiming people by throwing concrete off a bridge, then moaning about police brutality when you get a truncheon to the throat for it. That's how it works. Thought those little ****ers were meant to be smart. Ought to have been able to figure that **** out, really. I learned that at 12.

I think the police get more stick than they deserve. They're doing the best job they can. If you want to improve them, then we need to fire all the health and safety officials who don't allow the police to do anything.

You just called me a ****, and yet you say I'm bitter.

Try not to denigrate someone in future if you have a difference of opinion.

I'm not bitter, indeed I look back quite fondly on getting nutted by Britain's Finest (as I mentioned in my earlier post). If the students could learn to be as pragmatic as me, and less whiny, they might have more luck with their protests.

I await your response to the Johann Hari scandal with interest. Do you still consider The Independent to be the last bastion of fair reporting?

    <ok>

They are doing a job trying to make our community safer like the other emergency services and they suffer attacks when they go on a call out. Also in NI the suffer threats on their lives fro idiot dissidents bent on destroying lives.

As I said already it is impossible to remove all bias, or in this case, deeds of misreporting for the furthering of a career or whatever his motives. But at least the editing doesn't come with a preconcieved political or proprietal bias. I cant believe that anyone in the the media is allowed to get away with having a preset bias never mind declaring it.

Guardian & Independent are the best of a bad lot i am afraid

There are no more bastions for fairness and unbiased reporting. Every media outlet has some form of bias and the only question is who is the least biased. Sometimes I really don't know the answer to that one.

And yet the fact that he has not been sacked suggests that his employers condone this sort of deceit.

They are poor newspapers and as agenda driven, in their own smug way, as the Daily Mail.

Its clear you are saying that just to act sensational or whatnot. I would like to see how the Guardian's coverage of the arts is comparable to the Daily Mail's celeb culture reporting ****e, or the Independent's economic reporting is as bad as the Daily Mail's gross dumbing down of economic figures etc.

I suppose next you will say that the Johann Hari scandal is as bad as the NOTW hacking Milly Dowler's mobile phone?

No, I don't like the Daily Mail. It's unreadable tosh. I rate their sports journalists (Martin Samuel and Des Kelly) as the best in the business though, so I occasionally glance at the main headlines. It becomes more like the Daily Mash every day.

My point was, the Guardian and Independent are biased and agenda driven and you would do well to see it. I don't want to argue with you though, otherwise you will just call me a **** again.

Are you ****ing serious? All credibility GONE. Goodnight sir. You still havent told me your age, or at least the type of generation you belong to. I did not call you a **** (as you well know) I merely said you sounded like a bitter one.
