At the risk of suggesting something improper, it is quite telling (and, if one is a Ferrari fan, distressing) that Ferrari's sackings seem to be all the non-Italians.

And we all know how that's worked out for them in the past.

Oh yes, the only time Ferrari ever worked is when they brought in outsiders.

Everytime they did it all inhouse, success was either non-existent, or it was just for brief moments until they all fell out with each other again!

Jock Clear rumored to be leaving Mercedes to join Ferrari. Will be a big loss to Hamilton's side of the garage if it's true!

Well Marco Mattiaci aside.. (and maybe you could say DI Montazemelo too) maybe he was their token italian sacking so if they did get accused of sacking only non Italians, they could say "but that's not true, our biggest sacking was Italian!"

I Have no doubt Ferrari have a huge amount of very talented people working for them, the problem is the character and mindset of the team. It's no coincidence that they work at their best when they have talent from other backgrounds holding the whole thing together.

Lotus? Seem to remember when Kimi re-joined Lotus he was reunited with him, then when he re-joined Ferrari they said he wasn't going to come over with him?

Italy is Italian, with that comes a belief in oneself rather than in the team. So team work is secondary to the achievement of ones own goals. Only when it doesn't work do the mass stand back, scratch their heads and wonder why. Meanwhile there is usually one brave soul who tries to save the day working hard upto the deadline and Presto! He fixes it. Except that making it as per the instructions doesn't deliver a win! more scratched heads! finger wagging etc. I worked in Italy for 3years and there are some exceptionally talented people there but they tended then, and I believe still do, fail to work effectively as a team.
If you want to stop an Italian talking, hold their finger...yes only the finger, then they can't speak.

Apologies to all Italians who could wag their fingers at some of our traits, no doubt justifiably so.

Hmm, a tantalising prospect of Ross being announced and doing the ol' Schumacher with Vettel once again.
