I have to say that if we try on the 3-4-3 v arsenal we will get thumped

I'd be happy to simply see one cb removed and a full back added, manquillo

    Make it 433

You cannot leave space like we did v Bournemouth who should have got 3/4 off our left side

C'mon lads markovic has only just started to show something. Both have a lot to learn so let's not slaughter one over the other

At least markovic is showing that not all the 20 mil is wasted unlike lovern however he's got a lot of improvement to deliver on that fee... I'm happy he showed some vision to cross and a cool finish too but the position didn't suit him. I'd like to see him left side forward in a 3 but I feel lallana will be there

Definitely - feel he is wasted at LWB but he did surprise me with his defensive ability.

I rather we have Moreno and Manquillo playing the wing back positions and move Hendo centrally.

Sterling is nothing like SWP. SWP could have been quality but let down by poor coaching (hardly surprising in this country) - same applies to Lennon.

Sterling is versatile and can play across the line, has vision and game intelligence, combined with great work ethic.

I think Ibe could be better than Sterling but for me, Markovic has a higher ceiling of potential of all 3. Been watching the lad since he went to Benfica and saw him briefly when he was a Partizan (Danilo will give you a better assessment than I).

sterling is 20 and has more than enough time to be let down by said coaching.... we cannot compare a 20 year old with a guy at swp's age.. compare swp at 20 to sterling..

sterling can be badly coached just as easy. I'd not compare them at all.

STerling is indeed versitile but has to add a lot to his game markovic needs to even find his feet... find a good slot i nthe second line or wide.... god knows with ibe.... lets them develop. the guy who works hardest will be the biggest success

Sterling at 20 already has more game intelligence than the majority of seasoned English professionals. Our academy has some very good youth coaches and has a set up which ensures our youngsters are taught about the tactical side of the game which is badly missing in English players.

  9. Ibe was he better prospect when they were both in the academy IMO but he's fallen a long long way behind Sterling now.

Sterling is a cracking player. I think he's an out and out winger though. Forget all this false 9 bollocks.

I think we have better odds of beating them in the semi where they will be focussed on the league rather than a final where they play their best team and know it's a single game and winner takes all

It could be a repeat of the Man City semi-but-effectively-final. No doubt we'd still make it harder than we need to against Sheffield like with Cardiff

His best performances have come as a number 10.

He's not an out and out winger and has rarely played there. He plays as inside forward or tip of the diamond.

  13. His best position is No.10 but preferably with two mobile attackers in front of him.

But you could say that's because sterling was given a chance when we were struggling and took his chance. Ibe in unfortunate that last year he didn't get that chance because we were performing well. He would have been handy to have this year which is a similar year to sterling a breakthrough but he's been shipped out on loan again

  16. Absolutely, but it doesn't change what I said, its just an explanation.

I know Ibe is performing well at Derby but he could be pulling up tree getting a hat-trick every week, until he does it in the PL I'll remain pessimistic. Learn't my lesson with Pacheco <ok>

Seriously guys you do know Ibe has just turned 19 on the 8th of this month so he's gone to Birmingham at 18 and derby too

The expectations on a kid is ridiculous

Sterling got burned up at his age so frankly we can be slightly grateful mcclaren is minding him a bit

Come on guys.... Behind? Let them all develop as they develop!

Going forward yeah, after their early chance we were playing the game in their half and the opener was inevitable.

Tobes will tell you we could have conceded 3,but we could have scored 8

  20. Who placed expectancy on the lad? I haven't. I said he and Sterling were of a similar level but I rated Ibe higher but now there is a big gap between the two. That is fact, not opinion or a sign of failed expectation.
