I posted in the Rival Watch thread that I feel the dearth of goals must come to an end soon and predicted it for Burnley, that it's come now is all the better.
Soldado replaces Kane. In the middle of a long version of Oh When The Spurs, so he didn't get much response. Shame.
Getting carried away and leaving space at the back, now. Silly. Decent recovery by Stambouli, which took it nicely back to Vorm. Townsend shoots and nobody in the crowd is hurt. That's nice.
Alnwick's hurt. Bloody hell. I thought our four right-backs missing was bad. Can we lend them Friedel or something? Nah, **** it!
Soldado gets another chance and doesn't put it away, but he's offside anyway. Looks up for it now, though.
Capoue comes on for Bentaleb. Nice to see him getting the opener. Decent game, though his communication with Stambouli needs work. A stronger side would've punished us.
The players are pulling out the party tricks now. Flicks, roulettes, stepovers... I'd say it's just like watching Brazil, but they're ****.
There has been some great football from us tonight. The second half has been one of the most enjoyable halves of football I have watched from us for a long long time!
Decent performance against a rather injury ravaged Newcastle side, who fell apart after the second went in. Very happy with that and I hope we can build on it. MOTM? Kane.
Good game from us, especially second half. The midfield pair of Stambouli and Bentaleb really impressed me, if they get more games together then I could see a very good partnership there. Chadli and Townsend and their FBs actually provided some good width even though they were inside out, so to speak. Vorm was very impressive too IMO. A few players have done themselves no harm at all tonight. Nice selection headaches in a few positions for Pochettino this weekend.
