Mind you, what with the SFA looking into Ashley's involvement with two clubs I expect that they would have gone ballistic if Newcastle looked like getting to the final.

But on the pitch - it's a nightmare and I joked after about ten minutes that Newcastle were playing 4-3-1 with two missing.

I actually really feel for the club here, we have been decimated by injuries because to get wins we HAVE to run harder and further than other teams. But we should be rocking up here with at least the likes of Elliot, Dummett, Cisse, Obertan, etc.

 

But cup games should be important. Newcastle haven't a hope in hell of beating the likes of all of Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal over the long run. Over one matches in a tie there's more chance of actually winning something; Newcastle can't compete over thirty-eight games in the league so they should be concentrating on trying to win something other than the Lotto Trophy or whatever it was.

 

I think part of the problem with the defence is that they have no faith in their keeper and they have lost all composure. The last two games have been abysmal, and on Saturday it was 4 goals from 4 shots on target. You expect to face a stern test when you play Spurs away, but an in form keeper would have saved all of those that went in.

I agree - I wasn't saying they had the right to do that, just saying I think its a factor, and that it has happened. It shouldn't have happened though - but they aren't the first defence that has happened to and they wont be the last.

 

@SimonBird_: Don't get to many #nufc away games. The relentless noise, funny chants and passion coming from away end, at 0-4 down, is remarkable.

I think you should well feel confident Sid, it's all shaping up just in the perfect timing for your boys.
