http://www1.skysports.com/football/...on-out-for-at-least-a-month-with-groin-injury Christmas come early. My favourite part, one that shows how little football these writers actually watch - Trusted to be ****ing dire.
I hope so. I said in the Utd match thread, I never thought I'd see a defender at Liverpool that was worse than Paul Konchesky. He's twice as bad. It's a shame because he used to be a valuable player. Now he's just lazy, pointless, arrogant and frustrating. Also on massive wages.
Given how much he plays, I think he is one of Brendan's most trusted players. He's just not one of anyone else's.
There's two defenders who are worse than Paul Konchesky - Johnson AND Lovren! Yet Rodgers wants to play them. I'm not happy that Johnson is injured. I'm just happy that now Rodgers has to play someone else instead. The fact that Rodgers continues to play Johnson, Skrtel and Lovren shows that he is truly clueless re. defending.
Same here. Not happy that someone has had an injury, but the only way he won't play is by injury, because it forces Rodgers hand.
I think Johnson's fitness has just slipped to far below PL requirements. Over do it and his injured again, run to much and he wont last the game. I can sympathize with Johnson but we cannot afford that in our team.
I won't celebrate someone being injured. Neither will I condemn someone so totally that I'll refuse to acknowledge any improvement. I do think Johnson has shown a bit more over the last few games than we've come to expect these days, but I still think we need to move on from him. Hopefully this will give Mankiller a chance to establish himself.
he got too long a contract last time he was renewed... blame whoever did that. he's aged and is injury prone and should have been moved 2 years ago.
Manquillo did establish himself with some great performances the last time Johnson got injured...but was then subsequently dropped for Johnson again.
Glad Mankiller and possibly Flanno (due back anytime) will get more game time but the day I start celebrating a players injury is the day I stop breathing!
Well, hopefully properly established this time. He doesn't offer as much going forward as GJ did once upon a time when he remembered how to play football, but Manq appears to be the only FB who actually knows how to prevent a winger from getting a cross in every time.
Can had good performances against both Madrid and Chelsea - he's seen 15 mins of action since then. There is no meritocracy. Unfortunately, certain players getting injured is the only way some of these young lads will get an opportunity.
If Johnson was born with even half a brain he'd have made a great player, he has all the physical attributes, he's just f**ing stupid as f**.
