Guly was more tongue in cheek, but if Mane can be coached to be a the level we need him to be I would be very surprised.

Until January when Cup fever will hit again and instead of resting our first team and focusing on the league in the position we are in we will put out our first 11 and then we'll all be moaning about the chance to finish top 6 being wasted at the end of the season

 

Personally, I'm off to bed. I feel very sorry for the fans who actually went to the game, hope they get home safely. The team will be back out in training etc tomorrow and RK will not be throwing his toy out of the pram and giving up. Life will return to normal in the morning for most of us. I'm resigned to the fact that this spell will probably continue for various reasons, not least of which is our squad is under strength at present and, until January, we may have to take some pain. However that said I still believe that with our manager and his support team, better things will eventually return. Keep the dream, relax, reflect and lets hope we see a reaction from the team soon.

Embarrassing. Adam Johnson may have been right when he said we were still in a relegation battle.

 

Sigh....watch us beat Everton, and all will be sweetness and light again. It's just football, and being a Saints fan. This happens.

 

I feel like there's some kind of wider plan here that I don't know about. Maybe we've just been trolling the football pundits. Keep winning until they finally agree that a 'mid-table team' are in with a good chance of the top 4 and then lose every game to make them look like fools. Yeah, I'm sure that's whats really happening here. When they start predicting we're in the relegation battle we'll go on another winning streak.

 

Easily the most disappointed and angry I've been in a long, long time. Fraser kept us on it, Shane ran his nuts off.

The rest? Pah.

Even had a scrap with a local chav. Now in a dive of a 'hotel'.

f'ing hell, we've been one of the biggest spenders int he division over the last three years.

having sold the core of our first team there is an excuse this season, but the last three too many of our big signings were not even strong back up material

how much do we need to spend to sign enough?

Honestly, guys, don't beat yourselves up about any of this. If anyone of you had been approached at the start of the season and said to you, "Look, you've lost your manager and half your first team, but don't worry, you're not going to get relegated; in fact, you're going to finish a comfortable 14th." You'd have snapped his hand off. Right?

Well, you're going to finish a comfortable 14th (perhaps 15th). Job done. I don't see what all the angst is for.

The real problem is that some of you (well, almost all of you, in fact) began to believe the hype and really did believe that a miracle might actually happen. All you are feeling is the pain of being put back in your boxes. I really would not worry about it.

 

That we have played **** since beating Sunderland 8-0 and that too many fans warbled on about a great performance at the emirates against a weakened side. Didn't ever expect how ****e we've been this month though.

 

I feel like the players had so much smoke blown up their arses after that good start, paid lip service about keeping their feet on the ground, but didn't follow through on it. There are extentuating circumstances but they didn't need to give away as much as they did.

Eventually they'll get back on track. A shame that a number of things conspired against the strong start.

 

Not sure we will recover from this anytime soon .
