Southampton are a very average team. He's done well to have them anywhere near the top 6.

I have no idea what's happened to Southampton. They were great at the start, now they can't even scrape a win.
Sure they've had some injury problems in midfield, but I didn't think it was this bad...

He is bang average. Look at his managerial record elsewhere, he was getting insanely overrated at the start of the season.

6 defeats on the trot is some bad spell. Not easy to turn that around.

Just out of idle curiosity, why the Koeman hate?

So, where do you think a good manager would have them now with all the layers they lost and the injuries they have had?

I assume this was earlier on the season, then. Sadly was not posting on here at the time, but hopefully someone corrected him at the time. Koeman failed at Benfica,Valencia,AZ and arguably at Ajax as well. Not sure how anyone can rate a manger who failed at four clubs highly.

2 points off fourth after 4 losses on the trott does not make me think of a "fraud" of a manger, they will come again.

Despite losing loads of players, their squad is still decent, because Southampton recruit well. So his start was hardly a miracle act. Will be interesting to see if he can turn this around, but he has already failed at four clubs, so I would not be backing him to succeed.

Failed at FOUR clubs. Fraud was maybe a bit harsh, but he is not the brilliant manager that he was being made out to be.

I have a soft spot for Valanica and his was a f**ing disaster there. That team had Silva,Villa,Mata and Joaquian and this guy took them near the relegation zone.

Every manager who ever got sacked has failed, failed to meet the clubs expectations. Even Mourinho failed at Chelsea and Madrid yet i suspect you wouldn`t class him as bang average or a fraud.

Edit was typing when you posted 13013 so forget the fraud bit, i accept you got a bit carried away

What a s**t example that is. We all know Jose did not fail with those clubs. Koeman on the other hand, if you take a closer look was a failure at Valanica and AZ, while he finished third in a two team league over in Portgual. His spell at Ajax was also not that special considering the status of Ajax in that particular league.

That is why i used him, hardly a faileur or fraud <laugh>
Status means very little re Ajax, Liverpool still have status in the Premier League despite never winning it <ok>

Also today Real Madrid recorded another win in the club world championship taking their winning run to 21 games. Amaizng how Carlo has managed to find balance in such an attacking team. More amazingly Ronaldo did not score in their 4-0 win over Cruz Azul.

Ajax has the best youth system and still attract the best young players from around the world. Any half decent manager should do well there.
