Hard to argue with that now. I thought we should have kept Sherwood, but Pochettino was my first choice when he was sacked. So it looks like I was right about the first decision, and wrong about the second.

"The wise at sunset praise the day," though. There's something weird about this year's team. Most of us have been very critical. I've turned on Pochettino in a big way. But something about the way we play away makes me wonder if we're really so hopeless. I've never seen Vertonghen as passionate as after Eriksen's goal. When and if we can ever manage to put a couple of wins together...

In any case it's interesting that right after two of the teams that came up this year, we host Man U and Chelsea.

De Boer happy to take over from Rodgers, he should be with us and I don't think it will work with Liverpool.

Burnley at home shouldn't be a problem, three or four nil I'd say but Leicester has surprised us before.

not digging but wildly optimistic imo. Burnley do not concede too many...they have had 5 clean sheets and conceded 1 goal in 4 other matches. Away from home they have played 7 matches conceding 12 goals...7 of them came in 2 games (3 nil goons and 4 nil west brom) when they looked doomed which means in the other 5 away games they have only conceded 5 goals.
They are statistically the hardest working team in the prem and....we are cack at whl against teams we are expected to beat

Agreed. Given our current home form, I'd settle for the three points - whatever the score.

This is wildly optimistic - and leaves him open to quite a bit of ridicule, not least from his elder brother:redface:

2 years ago a less than vintage Utd side won the league easily, but there were still six or seven top class, experienced players around, including 26 goal RvP. Vidic defended when it mattered. Who's going to do the defending now?

Yes. As has been said, you'll win nothing if you can't defend. A more clinical side than L'pool would have got a different result on Sunday.

They were very ordinary at the Lane. I never did quite appreciate the hype they received and whilst I don't expect them to drop like a stone down the PL, I do expect them to struggle from now onwards.

Lost to Burnley and now Sheff U Spurcat so it's hard to see where the wins will start.

Now now SoS, schadenfreud isn't nice, but there again you're being strikingly open aren't you? Love it.

Dot on the card it was going to happen, it was only a matter of when. Still, better sooner rather than later, eh? :D

They got overhyped because the journos and pundits were backpedaling after writing them off in preseason.

I bet even a few of them saw it coming too but didn't want to say so incase they were proven wrong again.

They started well but benefited from an easy start and every top 6/7 club struggling apart from Chelsea in the early months, now it's time for them to show some mettle, lets see how they do.

Right now is the point in the season when clubs can be judged.
The League Cup and UEFA group games are done for the year, and we're close to halfway thru
    the PL season.

Soton have done ok to this point.

Koeman did well, but their squad looks a bit light and teams might have adjusted to their new style, too.
A couple of moves in January might help, but a top half finish would still keep the fans happy, I'd have thought.
