Well, what a strange day. I'm currently working part time in order to pay my mortgage and afford to do stuff, and I've had three seperate customers come in and tell me that the club has been sold in this last month, two of them today, one last week. Just wondering if anybody here has heard anything to back this up? As far as I know the people (one of whom frequents my work quite often) aren't anything to do with the club and they wouldn't say who told them. The 'regular' told me it hasn't been ratified by the FA yet and won't be announced until sometime in January, apparently the owners are from the US. I know if anybody had heard anything it would already have been posted on here anyway, but it'd be interesting to see if anybody had heard any snippets of info? It just seems strange to me that I'd hear the same thing three times in a week when it isn't really a hot topic at the moment and all three had similar facts, despite not knowing each other. I even asked Deano and he said he had no idea, not that he would anyway, but desperate to get some info I clutched at straws.
How many more times are we going to hear this? I doubt he'll ever leave, he loves the limelight too much, they'll be carrying him out before he sells up imo.
A billionaire American buying a club without it being all over ESPN? Can't see that happening. An American sports group buying a club without it being leaked by dozens of people and being on ESPN? Can't see it happening. Moving that much money around or even talking about moving that much around invoves to many people for it to not be on ESPN already if a deal was even being discussed.
The rumors of Americans being interested in PL clubs are clearly true. It's possible someone has made contact about the possibility of purchasing us but I can't see it being anymore along than that.
I don't know, it might come out in the media very soon, I don't see why there would have to be a leak, if they didn't go to the media directly then how would the media know? Even if they had somebody on the inside to leak it, which is unlikely given how careful owners are these days (lol), it's still not tacked on that the media would get hold of it. You're probably right, but I don't see why the media would know, it could be somebody who isn't already in the limelight in the US, hence them able to pass under the radar. In the words of Rich Little impersonating Howard Cosell, "Interesting if true"
I hope so. Be interesting if any new owners realise that unless they pass all decisions affecting their money and the club theyd own have to be approved by a small group of gobshites,
Sorry are we not allowed opinions now? What qualifies us as gobshites? Would be interest to hear your thoughts....
Surely it'd be very hard to get a good price for a City at the moment with one foot in the Championship. The price would need to be somewhere in between that of a PL Hull City and a Championship Hull City.
