United said they are ''relaxed'' about his contract situation and are confident that his future is at Old Trafford.

The key phrase being "once in a while" because you predict every single possible occurrence in the world, some have to be right.

If you look back I think 98% of the replies said the same thing, just a varying timescale as to when he would mature into the keeper is.

In your corner is you said he'd do it quicker than most. Which he has.

Your benchmark of Joe Hart has long been surpassed also. By a good country mile.

It did make me chuckle when they did a poll on SSN as to who the best goalkeeper in the world was, they included Joe Hart in the short list. De Gea obviously won the poll, but to include Joe Hart in the top 5 short list is an absolute disgrace. There are atleast 5 in just the PL better than him, never mind the rest of the world

    De Gea obviously won...really?

Surely C.L and world cup winner Neuer is commonly regarded as the worlds number 1 at the moment.

De Gea won the poll. Did Neuer win those trophies on his own?

  10. You have got to admit, though, that when he first moved to United, he was a complete and utter clown.

Wouldn't go that far. He needed to bulk out an was a tad flappy. But was a good shot stopper.

Just a young keeper. Everyone of them made mistakes at that age.

Neuer was a bumbling mess in some games for schalke. Others he was brilliant. Extremes are the norm for someone learning the game.

Recent developments surrounding tescos shows he was fully justified in his actions.

Especially!! Shoplifting, GBH, buggery... Nothing can dent his greatness, just as long as he doesn't associate himself with Chelsea he won't degrade himself.

Neuer then Courtois. Never seen better than Courtois at taking crosses. Neuer has great all round game and has masses of experience. Neuer, Courtois and De Gea all great shot stoppers. De Gea has had the chance to shine as he is the busiest of the 3 due to ****e defence.
