thats not the point though jager is it. fans on here were wrong saying he was offered a contract when a couple of us told you he was refused and he said that he would never sign reguardless of what we did after that, him and dorus stuck by their principles i i for one admire that...its our loss...

If I have the time line correct ..... While DP was on vacation getting bent out of shape over a comment that Jenkins apparently made, we were manager-less yet again and Jenkins' priority was to hire a new manager. We started preseason with Curtis and Pascoe jointly in charge of the squad. Rogers was then hired and was quite rightly given time to assess his squad and make recommendations - the top priority being to find somebody like Sinclair to score goals, get a reserve keeper, and so on. Meanwhile we had to endure the Forest fiasco and some sort of offer reported by DP's agent that apparently, by quoted reports, Jenkins and the Board met in a new contract offer that DP failed to sign.

So excuse me for thinking, at first pass, that this is a load of crap.

sorry i was right you were wrong, pratters and dorus is a huge loss and a unavoidable one, tailor got a three year contract the same week so there is no excuse to treat the most important players at the time so disrespectful. dorus will speak up soon as well after buck has stated that he cant understand why he has left for less money and as no2 at wolves, we know though dont we lads..<laugh>

Sums it up there Yankee , yep offered a contract by Brendan at earliest opportunity , got offered something by forest, refused to speak about contracts, and it's been an open secret for months that he was going to Bolton ! Yep my high regard for pratley has gone down because of his bullshit and airs

Dai, why don't you just come and and blame huw jenkins like you always did last year?

Personally I couldn't care less what pratley wants to prattle on about. Neither do I believe a word he had to say now. He chose to leave, more fool him, he'll have plenty of time to regret it. Like every other player that has left us for "greener pastures".

Up the swans. And full marks to huw Jenkins for sticking to his principles. Don't let the *******s get you down!

Yea it's a bit silly Dai.

Well, whatever with pratley, it is over now anyway, and he was a good servant to the club, so thats how I shall remember him.

Dorus - He always diddled with his contracts, and he just wanted to leave. I don't know why. He was loved by the fans, had a starting place, he had it pretty good here.

probably offered more money me thinks. But I again, will remember him as a good player for the Swans, and a very good goal keeper for us. A big reason we are were we are.

whether we were without manager or not at the time, it was ill judged of Jenkins not to have signed Pratley when he wanted to sign, particularly prior to his bold statement that contracts were off the agenda he signed up two other lesser players. This is just the fall out of some sloppy contract dealings, and something we need to get professional over, giving players away is another issue, time for us to close all the loop holes now we are in the Prem, I only wish Darren the very best, and shame he took offence with Jenkins over this, when he would have been better just letting it go, but it is water under the bridge now, and I don't think we treated Pratley with respect, the same way we did not give respect to Painter either, hope we have learned some lessons from this, though I suspect not!...............

Respect goes both ways Phil, I see little of that in the dealings with pratley, and I said at the time, if he doesn't want to be with the swans then go! He was offered a contract he said no I will wait until the end of the season, then he claims he decided after the play off final, we all know that is bullshit, so he is lying to us!

Pratley had enough time over the course of the season to swallow his pride and sign the contract... I liked Pratley and i think he was a good player for us and we have lost out but that's that.

Strangely Pratley has the right to be offended that Jenkins said to the press "We're in no rush...", yet there's no problem with Pratley going straight to the press when he wants a new contract? Pratley has always been a bit of whinge and wanted to move on to bigger things, and by the time he knew Swansea would be Premiership Bolton was a done deal.

Jager we have been over this before, and I'm sure you have got a mental blockage on this issue of Pratley! What part of the bit regarding Pratley wanting to sign, and stay at Swansea don't you understand! And why on earth did Jenkins decide to snub him with, the 'All contract talks are off' bit is beyond me, he was one of our best players that season under Sousa, and even Sousa tried to get him the contract, how the hell do you treat a player like this who is one of your best starting 11, like I have said before Pratley has a case, that I have no doubt, and the only mitigating circumstances in Jenkins favour that season was the turmoil between him and Sousa, and one last thing it seems some Jacks have lost the time frame on all this Pratley issue, but I have not, but like I said, shame that Pratley did not let it go, because there was far too much politics going on at the time, with Jenkins and Sousa.
