    Mohamed Diame has been ruled out until the New Year with a knee problem.

    Diame has been troubled by the problem in recent weeks, missing the home game against Tottenham Hotspur last month before being withdrawn during the second half of the draw at Everton nearly a fortnight ago.

    After seeing a specialist late last week, the midfielder has been advised to wear a brace for a month and won’t be back in action until 2015.

    Meanwhile, the Tigers are also set to be without Michael Dawson until after the festive period. The defender lasted just ten minutes of the weekend defeat at Chelsea before coming off with a hamstring problem with manager Steve Bruce giving an early estimate of four to six weeks on the sidelines. Dawson will undergo scans to determine the full extent of the damage later today.

    Im sure other teams have injury issues too.. but we seem to be getting an awful amount of injuries recently..

    I think it was posted on here a while ago that when Bruce was at Sunderland he also had a ridiculous amount of injured players. Is it the way Bruce likes to train the players or just bad luck?

    AFCON starts on 17 January. So whether Diame gets fit early in the new year or not, we won't be seeing him much before mid-February.

    Brucey won't be rushing him back - if he misses AFCON I'm sure our gaffer won't be at all unhappy.

    After Curtis' performance vs Chelsea, Dawson's injury doesn't worry me as much as it would have a few weeks ago, hopefully the spell on the sidelines has given him the kick up the arse he needed and he'll find last year's form again

    Diame was going to be missing for most of January anyway so what will be will be.

    Same for Dawson(re. the injury not the afnc). Yes he will be missed but we have enough cover to cope.

    Bruce did well @ Chelsea and was unlucky to be booked for a a QUALITY tackle.

    Hopefully McShane well also get another chance. We have a squad so use it.
