I really hope that I am not the cause of any missing posters on here. I readily acknowledge that I am not a member of the Mark Hughes fan club, neither was I a member of the Tony Pulis Appreciation Society. I am however for my sins; a Stokie for 60 (very) odd years, through thick and mostly thin. And YES, right now are the VERY BEST of times. My only regret, due to physical NOT mental problems is that I have not been able to see a live Stoke game since we have been in the PL. Live streams or MOTD. Yes, Ricc's criticism is of not 'being there' is fully justified. I have tried to be an amusing Devil's Advocate and promote/stimulate some/any response. If, as seems likely, I have offended/insulted/annoyed or just pissed off anybody...well...er...um
Nicky my posts havent been aimed at any individual mate, I know im in the minority on here and I really dont want to fall out with people on here anymore. Like I said it isnt just on here its in the stadium and even in the sentinel etc. I just dont understand what Hughes has to do to win some people over, yes everyone is entitled to their opinion but for every reason someone can give me for him not doing a good job I could give 10 for how imo he has turned our club around and has me looking forward to every game. I know the goals havent been flowing but its not for the want of trying, we have created so many chances its unreal and yes people can say "but its a result game" and yes they are right but as I keep saying performances bring results and I think we are very unlucky to be where we are at the moment. I can only remember a couple of games where we have been poor and that is a massive change from when we were watching the dross under Pulis. We have a go away from home and if Huth had been fit I think we could have been sitting in 7th (Wilson isnt up to the job imo). I try to be a positive person and nobody will change me on that front but when all I hear is people moaning when we are playing well and just not getting the rub of the green it frustrates me. Like I say I think Hughes is doing a cracking job andif he adds a couple more players in January I think we will be looking up the table rather than down. Up the potters
I don't believe there is any negativity on here. Your thread 'Not 606..RIP' was justified IMO and I did not see it as a criticism of the forum, more a question as to why the numbers of posters had reduced as had the discussions relating to matchdays. I missed the contributions of the 'regulars' as I said on the thread. I am glad to see that many have responded positively to your thread, Nick, and I do hope it continues. We may have different opinions but we all support the team and I am sure we are pleased with the way things are going but it does hurt when results go against us.
its not the thread front page thats negative its whats inside proudpotter, everyone slagging us off one day then we beat Arsenal and we are the best team in the world. Im sorry but being a supporter doesnt work like that. You take the good with the ****e its just that on here the ****e is amplified 10 fold and the good virtually goes unrecognised, again only my opinion.
I saw enough of the Pulis style early in his first time at Stoke to tell me I could not stomach what he thrust on us. I stopped going. Sometime in his last tenure ( I hope it will be his last ) , I was persuaded to attend a match , I can't remember who we played , it was that memorable , and I said afterwards " that is why I stopped going". It was terrible. But now - wow - I love how we play. I am a season card holder and if we continue like this I shall be one next year. So to the Thread Title , negativity and positivity come and go like the tide. Personally I see no need for negativity at the moment. But I will allow other fans to have higher expectations than mine. But they would be SKY HIGH. CUMONUPOTTERS!
To try and clear up the title of this thread: I wrote it, not in my defence at all but of an attempt to explain my (sometimes trivial/cynical/amused) attitude, on here...it's much the same in real life I'm afraid As PP says...we all support the same team. By the way, I want to see the headline on BBC News tonight; STOKE RUN RIOT AT PALACE
Nicky and Cris IF that's IF and a BIG IF anyone took me to Fail Park even in my coffin. I would climb out and run like the wind out of Burslem. I even detour on my way to Biddulph so I don't have to pass the ground
It is the season of peace and joy to the world. And that includes Vale Park. And if you are of a mind to mock them , then instead , just give thanks that you are not a Vale fan.
