Pauling has also retweeted something tonight which would suggest it's a good each way chance.

Morning, crew. Hope everyone on board is well. Good, good.

I don’t know if everyone’s seen Alan King’s comments re Smad Place or if they’ve just been reported locally. He’s had a total change of mind and appears to be kicking himself very severely. He says its unrealistic for a horse to win the Hennessy first time up (although both Mr Henderson and Mr Nicholls have managed it in recent terms) and he should have prepped Smad Place beforehand as he now realises he was in no way fit enough. Also his plan to go Hennessey, CGC only has been shelved and all being well the old boy will run at either Newbury, on Wednesday, or the ‘King George VI’ on St Stephen’s Day. Will he still be 28/1 for the CGC comes months end???

Meanwhile, is Mr Henderson’s latest superstar Peace and Co?!? Bally ‘eck what a performance that was. One of those few efforts that takes the breath away.

Finally it’s great to see that Mr Henderson’s Close Touch may be back. Against all the odds the forum’s favourite trainer seems to have nursed this one back to full health. What amazing ‘magic hands’ that man has! Has an entry in a Grade 2, at Ascot, on Friday.

    Good luck, pilgrims.

NH racing, especially over hurdles, looks in dire trouble right now at the highest level as just 5 entered in Saturday’s £100,000 Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle. Medinas, from the county, plus Zarkandar, Reve De Sivola, Aubusson and Dell' Arca.

ACTIVAL, remember the name, remains in Saturday's Ladbroke at the latest stage.

Well spotted, Bob. That missing ‘i’ could have been costly! Loved his win at Kempton Park last Feb. Did it that day in the manner of a very good horse. For once I’ll be opposing Mr Henderson on Saturday.

I wonder if At Fishers Cross has foot problems again as it seems strange he is not entered for Saturday.

The Adonis wasn't it? Terrific. I would agree, on that run, he's something to get excited about.

Just seen the ride of the month from Mark Grant on Banks Road. 14/1 outsider of the four. Stole a march on every other jockey turning round and in. I thought that was brilliant. Made sure his horse jumped across the most likely challenger over the last three obstacles and beat off the favourite after the last. He'll not get the credit he deserves there but i think he's just been the difference between his horse winning and losing.
