BUMP!!!! anyone wathciny city v roma tonight. only two slots in the next round are not decided. It'll be interesting to see who does what next. Arsenal and City will at best finish second, (city) and Chelsea have won their groups. The group winners are: Atletico Madrid Real Madrid Monaco dortmund Bayern PSG/Barca Cheslea Porto the second place teams are: Juventus Basel Leverkusen Arsenal Roma/city PSG/Barca Sporting Shaktar I can see arsenal getting Atletico, Real, barca/PSG or Bayern... if they get monaco or porto I'd still wonder about them getting though Cheslea really will have a much easier time. Juve and PSG/Barca are to be avoided but I can see england only having one team in the QF again.
Right you lot, get your heads up... you're acting like a bunch of liverpool players under rodgers. yadayahdah and so forth with inspirational muck now lets get this thread going. Champions League draw dates First legs: 17 February: Paris St-Germain v Chelsea, Shakhtar Donetsk v Bayern Munich 18 February: Schalke v Real Madrid, Basel v Porto 24 February: Manchester City v Barcelona, Juventus v Borussia Dortmund 25 February: Bayer Leverkusen v Atletico Madrid, Arsenal v Monaco Second legs: 10 March: Real Madrid v Schalke, Porto v Basel 11 March: Chelsea v Paris St-Germain, Bayern Munich v Shakhtar Donetsk 17 March: Atletico Madrid v Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco v Arsenal 18 March: Barcelona v Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund v Juventus
Lfc would be hammered by port and port would not have sold us jackson martinez then... in any event.. city v barca... thats a biggie PSG v Chelsea will be interesting to see if Chelsea will get revenge. Besiktas v LFC is interesting. I expect to lose badly over there to make the home tie irrelevant.
Turkish teams are always a bit iffy away from home but normally very good at their own ground. This is where Rafa is a genius and stiffles he game away from home and gets a draw minimum before winning it at Anfield. However under Rodgers I don't hold much hope of that so expect a 3-2 lose away before trying to hang on for a 2-1 win at home!
I really hope we give it a good go this competition. Much rather win the EL than FA cup or league cup
I said the same the other day. These games aren't scheduled until February so by the time it comes round we will be out of the league completely and there is a fairly big chance we won't be in the League Cup either (I think we'll lose to Ballmouth but we'll get a tough fixture in the next round if we progress anyway). May as well go all out for the EL. Winners get CL footy next season too.
we've a half chance in the elague cup... c'mon guys... bournemouth with respect are bournemouth if we lose its our own fault!!! 4 games to win the cup... go for it.. (i hate double legged semi finals)
Ballmouth have won something like eight in a row and are flying how in confidence. We've been ****. I said at the time of the draw that this wasn't a easy tie and I think its even harder now because of how poor we've been.
