Cracking game that against a confident Newcastle, especially considering we had our defensive worries (in fairness, Newcastle also missed key players). I want to see us able to beat the tough, gritty games before I get too confident. We're fantastic when the pressure is off, or if we play an open attacking team but in tense, physical games I worry. Having Debuchy back makes a huge difference and I'll be even happier once Koscielny is in the team. Personally, I'd rather our settled starting back 4 playing than the likes of Ãzil and Theo back. That's not to say they're not amazing I should add, more that I feel we should be building from the defence forward. Oh, and in a period where we've all been bumming Martinez for his great performances it was great to see Chezzers make that sharp double save. Not easy considering it was pretty much his first action. Nothing he could do about the goal either, that was just ****e defending.
Only worry for me from that game is the defending from set pieces is still shocking, it's going to cost us points this season regardless of how well we play
