Good goals - Hooper's assists were sublime.

i think munky sums the game up well. the first half was as bad as anything we’ve seen at carrow road for many a year. truly terrible. no plan to break our opponents down, no style, dreary, dull passing from side to side. we still had two clear cut chances which were both squandered by hooper and jerome but it was no surprise to hear us booed off.

in all honesty, a five year old could have corrected it. WIDTH. WIDTH. WIDTH! why we had to wait until half time i don’t know but the impact was immediate.

this game merely showed why myself and many others are so frustrated at the moment. player for player we have an excellent team. but this is the problem - they don’t play as a team. nobody seems to know their role. yesterday, once redmond came on and wes after him, we played as a team, had a better balance and showed our true potential. ok, it was against ten men and huddersfield were as bad a side as we’ve seen all season, but these players are more than capable of tearing teams apart in this division. we saw it second half at cardiff and we saw it on saturday.

the potential is there but its being badly mismanaged. we desperately need adams and co to learn quicker than they are. still, that’s two wins on the bounce - just what the doctor ordered! let’s take this into next weeks clash and i genuinely believe if we can emulate that second half we will take all three points from the ipro. and if we do, we are right back in the mix and the mood around the club will surely have been lifted going into the tough christmas period.

on a side note, great to see holty get such a wonderful reception (inevitable though it was). looked teary as he walked off the pitch. didn’t have a good game but what an absolute legend. thought the huddersfield fans were great entertainment too. respect to them.

I don't mean to be rude Supers, but this post really stinks of bias.

What were you expecting? Adams to change shape before half time? How? The set-up before half time had no wingers. Taking off someone before half time would have been terrible for morale. Adams was spot on with his substitution at half time. He nailed it.

Yes, it was bad at half time and yes the boos were not surprising, but this was basically the team that picked up three points last week so it's difficult to argue for change.

As for playing as a team, no it wasn't there until the change, but every single goal was a team effort after that. No it wasn't pretty first half, but with a nervous team what do you expect? They still got chances, but we stayed in the game and took our chances eventually. Football is a confidence game, so let's judge style when our confidence is high.

Our difficulty is that we have been predictable. We've been predictable partly because we've had injuries and partly because Adams has been learning. And while I agree with you that he needs to learn fast, I really thought that the last couple of games showed learning (or maybe the influence of Phelan, who cares). Both of them showed a gritty endeavour not to lose at all costs and to take the game when the moment was right.

The one thing Adams has consistently impressed with is substitutions. From Cardiff away early on until now, his substitutions have been good. We can't expect to win every match in the first 20. So I thought yesterday, frankly, deserved a round of applause at all levels (including Whittaker).

Rob, you've accused me of bias and then backed me up on just about everything I posted! That's a bit weird. And if you were at the game and you weren't, after about 25 minutes, screaming at our management team to change system and get some width, I suspect you were the only one. As I say, it was obvious - a five year old would have know what to do. Why wait till half time? The game was there for the taking. Thankfully he changed it at the break and inevitably it worked and we ran riot.

Excellent posts from Supers and Canary Rob. I was quite surprised by the starting 11 and certainly Hooper or Jerome should have given us a half time lead.

Whittaker worries me and he seems too intent on getting forward and I would like to see a change at the back for our trip to the iPro next Sat.

Great win yesterday with all 5 goals being the result of a TEAM effort and it should give the team confidence going into the busy Xmas period. <ok>

I suspect they'll go into the game as very slight favourites, but hardly a forgone conclusion is it?

Can we get a 5 year old manager in to sort this mess out please?
2 convincing wins with clean sheets and 6 points from top going into Christmas is simply not good enough .

Priceless.<laugh>

Nothing like taking a post completely out of context and making a stupid comment, eh? Seems to be your speciality. I'd be concerned if any of our fans couldn't spot what was wrong on Saturday and how to fix it. Back on ignore <doh>

It was the way you phrased it, not what you said <ok>

"A five year old could have corrected it" is the equivalent of saying Adams contributed nothing special and yet as you say he made the right substitutions
"They don't play as a team" and yet as you said they played as a team
"Its being badly mismanaged" and yet as you say half time was managed well and we have two wins on the bounce
"We desperately need Adams and co to learn quicker than they are" and yet they clearly have been learning very fast compared to three matches ago

As I said, I'm sorry Supers, yes I completely agreed with the analysis, but your interpretation of the facts of the match show clear bias against Adams. There's a long way to go and I'm by no means happy with him, but credit where it's due, Adams has got it spot on over the last two games IMO. Your post was too negative, sorry. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I think SN has a bit of a point - the five year-old comment is a bit of a give away - you are not prepared to applaud Adams even when he gets it right. <ok>

As for substituting before half time, I've already explained that. It's not sensible - it can kill morale and, as it turned out, was totally unnecessary. Pointless criticism.

Ps, for your "and you weren't at the match" I could quite easily go for the ignore button too. It's a bit pathetic.

Not taking sides in this - no need to, but this is a valid point. Last season you, Superman, were the one advocating all the restless natives to show some "patience" and allow Hootun the time to shape the squad he wanted.
I can't quite see what Adams has done that wrong to the point where the same mantra can't be applied this season. I know we're in a lower league now, but we can't blame NA for that.
To use a (seasonal:emoticon-0112-wonde) cliché, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Or at least, it should be?

Some valid points in your post Rob, but I think you misunderstood the above, probably due to some errant punctuation.

It read to me as "if you were at the game and , after about 25 minutes, you weren't screaming etc etc."
